Another movie about how evil and racist white people are
How many times does Hollywood have to remind us?
shareHow many times does Hollywood have to remind us?
shareThere's gonna be a war, man. I can see it. There's gonna be a war between the blacks and between the whites. You ain't even gonna need a uniform no more. This ain't gonna be a war where you pick your side. Your side's already picked for you.
shareThe movie is very good. It’s in the Pacific Northwest in the ‘80s and based on a real person and actual robberies to fund their cause. The informant is real. A talk show host is actually assassinated. Jude Law is excellent - one of his best performances. The actor Nicholas Hoult who plays the supremacist in The Order is also very good - he’s also in Juror #2 and Nosferatu. Why do male British actors play Americans so much better. And they love to play Americans. Another similar movie to The Order actually made in the ‘80s, although considered fictional but maybe not because it’s the same plot, was the movie Betrayed with Tom Berenger and Debra Winger. The reviews on this weren’t good, but a lot of people watched this movie and liked it. It’s Berenger’s favorite film. It is also about a white supremacist who likes this girl.
shareIt's a true story. Calm down.
shareAnd they end it equating The Order to Jan 6th
shareThat's no huge leap. There's simply nothing to get triggered by here. It's a so-so movie based on a true story about frustrated, disenfranchised, ignorant white people who resort to drastic actions because they don't have anything else to offer. Nothing exotic or controversial in the least.
shareThat isn’t it. The Turner Diaries inspired Jan 6, McVeigh and OK bombing, as well as to The Order based on book The Silent Brotherhood who attracted seemingly average citizens with their call for pride in race, family, and religion and their mission to save white, Christian America from a communist conspiracy (although that part has changed now as seen in Jan 6).
shareJan 6th was not inspired by The Turner Diaries!
shareYou seem to know more than I would. Obviously it didn’t inspire Jan 6 as that was the election, but what happened afterwards seemed to. It was mentioned there were parallels, in particular NY Times - Day of the Rope. “On social media and in militant chat rooms on sites like 4chan, Telegram and Stormfront, some users celebrated last week’s violence and likened it to ‘the Day of the Rope,’ a mass hanging that occurs in ‘The Turner Diaries.’ Some rioters who live-streamed the assault made references to hanging politicians, and strung up nooses and erected a gallows outside the Capitol.”
“The turner diaries mentioned this. Keep reading,” one user posted on Telegram in reference to the attack on the Capitol.”
They took the book off Amazon.
Shit, 10 minutes of this movie and I already knew where it was going..Jews are the "victims" of blood libel, which is absolutely true anyway. We're fucking sick of Jewish Hollywood.
