This is one of the worst movies that I have seen in a long time. I was hoping that it would be an interesting coming of age story like the far superior "Mud".

It wasn't.

It moved at a snails pace to tell a twenty minute story with cold, uninteresting characters. I scratch my head and wonder how movies like this get made.

If one person reads this and decides to do something else with two hours of their life besides watch "Joe", my good deed for the day is done.

I don't like to use the word boring because that implies that the movie was good but I was bored. The movie had poorly written dialogue and uninteresting characters. If you're looking for a similar movie that has intense characters and really good dialogue, check out Out of the Furnace. Other movies I can think of are Prisoners and Mystic River.

I watched Out of the Furnace last night and agree completely with what you just said about it. I also enjoyed Mystic River, but haven't had the opportunity yet to see Prisoners.

I found Mystic River boring and laborious. Highly over-rated.

You must've seen a different film than I. I found the tension unrelenting. Sorry there weren't enough lasers and car chases for you.

Based on the film I saw, you must be a highly shallow and limited individual or are just posting comments you know most will find untrue to get a rise. Sad either way.

It's not easy for me to watch the lowest common denominator in movies. If I want to see trailer park hillbillies Ill go to Walmart.

I guess I must have watched a different movie than you, as both my wife and I thought it was fantastic. A riveting and heartbreaking story.
