Better than the first film

Personally I found this a more satisfying watch. Full of fun action sequences, cute quips and a whole lot of costume porn. Jessica Chastain was a great addition and Emily Blunt is a very interesting ice queen. It's the only film (that I can think of) that is both a prequel and a sequel, but somehow totally works as a standalone.

I am a little surprised by all the negative reviews from critics. To each their own.

I'd recommend it if you like action adventure movies with a bit of romance and comedy sprinkled in.

Thank you for saying that! It was way more satisfying! On contrary to Snow White and the Huntsman, this prequel/sequel moved me. I exited the cinema with a silly smile on my face!

In the first one, I really couldn't stand Kristen's Stewart acting. Really! And honestly, it was the first time that I almost turned off the TV because of someone's acting. This woman is only good, incredibly good, for the Twilight Saga. It's just that she doesn't have a wide range of emotions and films that she can play in, that's all.

So, YES, thank you for saying that you preferred this one!

You know what ? I saw this in theatres and I was impressed ! And it was not my first choice ! I ended up liking it very much. It has a 80s feeling of the fantasy films of that great decade. And for once, Chris Hemsworth is good in his role.

I was trying to decide, and I think I agree. Though I do miss all the other dwarves. RIP Bob Hoskins.

I agree. To me "Winter's War" was better than the first film.

One reason is that Blunt and Chastian are better actors than Stewart.

Imo at least, BB ;-)

it is just in my opinion - imo - 🌈

reply

Yes no Steward in this film. Better actors.

I must agree. I enjoyed this a LOT more than Snow White. You are also right that the best part of the movie was the addition of Emily Blunt as the Snow Queen and Jessica Chastain as the Archer. Both were excellent in their roles and completely stole the show from Ravenna and the Huntsman.

And what a joy it was without the horrible Kristen Stewart and her lack of expression.

I don't care what film critics say, I often disagree with them and movies in the end is personal choice and preference.
