Why would anyone ever watch this mess more than once?

This was mentioned in another tread but does anyone ever wish to re-watch something like this ever again? Honestly?

Even if you liked it for some reason, what is worth watching more than once? The action is nonexistent. There was very little intrigue and once you know the outcome, even those crumbs shrivel up. The writing was dry and witless. The performances were one dimensional. There isn't even any nudity to scan for or be titillated by with another pass.

Unlike Daredevil or other MCU entertainment, I have no desire to ever watch anything about this series ever again. It was one and done for me. Yet, if Jessica Jones would cameo in future Netflix shows, I do think that it would be pretty cool. Maybe it's not the character or the actress that failed but the writers?

Opinions vary.

Deal with it.

Really? You can't fathom why anyone would enjoy this enough to watch it again?

There are more than enough reasons that would compel someone to rewatch it: endearing villain, compelling anti-hero, fleshed-out characters, rich themes, multifaceted drama, emotionally intriguing narrative, visceral undertones, darkly immersive atmosphere, great cinematography, exceptional performances, moody soundtrack, etc.

Believe it or not, most critics and viewers found plenty to enjoy in JJ.

I barely had the will to watch it to the end. I guess Daredevil being so good made me tolerant towards this failure.

It has too many faults to list, in fact the only good points were the Luke Cage and Kilgrave actors. Too bad the Luke Cage character is a dumbass and Kilgrave was so badly written not even Tennant could save him. Watching Tennant was great at times but I had to endure the rest of it to do that.

I'll never watch this or Season Two of Agent Carter and I'm a big Marvel fan. Both are best forgotten because the writing is so bad in both. The characters in both are amazing and have so much potential. That's the true shame.

Well, I just finished the show, for the second time.
I really love this series. I love Krysten Ritter, and I love David Tennant. I think Kilgrave is a really interesting villain, but I also really love shows/movies about mind controlling.
I liked that it wasn't an action series, because shows with lots of fighting scenes, bores me. Here it's more like a psychological thriller, and I loved that.

I've read people, who thinks that Krysten Ritter did a bad job. Well, I completely disagree. You may not like the charachter JJ, but it amazes me how Krysten was able to portay such a sad, cold, bitter person, when in real life she is such a bubbly, happy person.

I wonder if people hate on the show because the lead is a female character or there's a pretty heavy usage of female characters compared to male characters.

I think you may have something there.

From the responses on this thread alone, it seems that males are more likely to hate JJ and females are more likely to love it.

I for one loved it. I don't normally love shows with this level of violence, but it was refreshing to see women who:

1. didn't need a man to save them;
2. in fact actually saved the men around them;
3. and defeated the villain, a man.

As a survivor of marriage to a psychologically manipulative husband, and a much stronger woman myself today, I applaud when shows like this one come around.

I've watched the series twice, and thanks to the OP for the reminder that I need to watch it again soon.

I like to point out that I'm a guy and I love the show. Jessica strikes me as a down-to-earth realistic character. And Kilgrave provides a terrific example of what mind control powers can do to someone with the wrong personality.

Also, people might watch this because it's probably required watching for Daredevil season 2. I say that because that season makes heavy reference to the events of Jessica Jones.

Awesome!

Such a well-written parody post.

I love when people make fun of those rare birds that think everyone should like what they like and can't fathom people having different likes and dislikes. "I don't care for strawberry ice cream - why do they even make it???!!?!?"

Bravo!

Even to check out why Luke Cage was so weak, I'll never watch this thing again.

I simply told my friends what happened in Jessica Jones to Luke Cage. I told them NOT to watch this crap and just enjoy Cage.
