Spoilers - True story? British series are great, gringos could learn ...

I had a great time, although there were some lame points, that sure could have been written differently. Such as "cop of the year" does not know how to make a glass disappear, or cop of the year being hunted down as dirty and corrupt, when he proves his innocence what does he do? Go home to his wife and lovely girls? No, he kills himself, yeah right.

Also, suspect is handcuffed in his car, how could he possibly be hit by a truck "in the line of duty"? With dozens of witnesses?

Just pointing out, do not take this as criticism, I really had a great time.

As I usually do watching british series, unlike gringo series, they are wrapped up in 5 or so episodes (sometimes 2 or 3), most times without those ridiculous cliffhangers.

While gringo series sometimes have 22 episodes or 5 seasons and they still can't fold the story, ha ha ha.

Not a true story.

He didn't prove his innocence.

In tv land, at least, dozens of witnesses don't change the officialy accepted version of events. Especially when the truth would have been very damaging.

"No Silicon Heaven? Preposterous! Where would all the calculators go?"

The glass stuff seemed silly to me. Why didn't he just put the glass down the road, run over it with his vehicle, and then move on. Or just toss it on the highway

And he didn't handcuff Tommy to the car. He just rammed Tommy's head on the driving wheel

I think Gates had to die because he already did the cover-up with Jackie and her accountant. Had he lived, he would have went down in shame. His family would've suffered. By killing himself in the line of duty, his family keeps his pension

Did you see all 6 seasons.

I just started watching the show. I'm in the middle of season 2

This is one of the best and smartest policiers to ever be on TV. There is an underlying theme that goes throughout all seasons and culminates in the finale. Gates is mentioned in this last season’s finale. So enjoy and anticipate the mystery. BTW I think the glass ending up in the office dishwasher was brilliant and one of those comical twists you chuckle because you know they will never figure it out.
