Tried to watch, lost me in with the time jumps

It started good, with the story of the corrupt mayor and that dude’s son. They put the blame on some imbecile, who gets hanged. I figured Viggo was going to investigate and eventually kick ass

Instead, they jump to scenes where he is romantically courting his wife, who died in the opening scene. Why? It took me a while to realize the movie went back in time. I was confused

How did you watch it? Stream? What service?

reply

It’s available on all streaming platforms right now . Is the movie different, depending on what platform we use?

reply

No just wondering if it was available to stream on a service at no additional cost.

I guess you didn’t see the end then?

This is not a western like Open Range, 3:10 to Yuma, or Appaloosa. Viggo is secondary. Viggo’s character is Danish born and so he is a “new” American before and after Civil War. His common-law wife who I believe is French Canadian - it’s her story. It’s not that difficult to follow. Viggo wrote the beautiful music as well. It’s an arthouse movie. I hate to say that but if you think you are going to see The Outlaw Josey Wales (similar story), that’s not this movie.

Yeah, I was a bit confused near the beginning, when the kid just seemed to disappear from the story. Then I realized it was a long flashback (duh!) and the rest of the movie fell into place. You just have to pay attention. It's not "Bonanza".
