Curry hole?

Some parts of the movie were funny, but the racist remarks against the young Indian chap were not cool. If there'd been a young African kid, and a young gay kid, getting called The N word or Fag, respectively, in an non ironic just plain nasty way, batemans career would be over. I don't know why it's ok or funny to be racist to Indians. Weird choice of movies for Bateman to direct.

(So you're mad about a guy who's supposed to be an unlikable ass hole being an unlikable ass hole?) LOL

(I guess Edward Norton and Clint Eastwood are an exception to the rule then?) LOL

I hear what you are saying but this movie is indeed very cool.

I think you're struggling to detach Jason Bateman from his character here.

The character he is playing is purposefully a horrible, mean-spirited and rude man who is attempting to ruin a whole nationwide tournament because of some long-running gripe with his father's absence. He's MEANT to be horrible.

I really don't think there's any credence to the 'if the child was black or gay' argument because the film would have played the same.

It's NOT okay to be racist to Indians. It categorically isn't.

But that's the joke. It's hearing the taboo, or seeing someone act in an outlandish way that you'd find shocking or crazy in real life.

Sure, if you heard someone on the street say this it wouldn't be funny, but in the context of the film I think it works perfectly. Of course, all humour is subjective and its OK if you didn't find this funny at all, but if the reason you didn't find it funny was because you thought it was racist then I think you've taken the comment at face value rather than looking at it as a tool for the film to convey just how ridiculous Jason Bateman's character is.

Bateman has ridiculed many sects, both sexes, religions,...he's brilliant, clever and hilarious. I don't see the problem.

Yeah, that made me wince... It fit the character, though. I think the humour was intended to derive from the fact that he had a lack of discretion as to say it... not that the insult in particular was thought to be funny, in and of itself.

OP you poor little flucking snow flake.....did he hurt your feelings?!

I thought the movie was hilarious and it's offenses were perfect! What we all needed.

Some good offensive humor that brought back the days of who gives a fluck!

Sadly too many millennials like you have turned this country into a fricking bloody cry fest, and I'm glad you were offended.
