Curry hole?

Some parts of the movie were funny, but the racist remarks against the young Indian chap were not cool. If there'd been a young African kid, and a young gay kid, getting called The N word or Fag, respectively, in an non ironic just plain nasty way, batemans career would be over. I don't know why it's ok or funny to be racist to Indians. Weird choice of movies for Bateman to direct.

So if the kid were Irish, you'd be offended if he'd said "Potato hole" or if he were French, "Crepe hole" or if he were American, "Cake hole"? Or is it just that insults in general are racist?? Everyone needs to calm down with the knee-jerk racist labels.

I just learned how to use the "Spoiler" button...

I couldn't have said it any better.

Yeah, we get it. You are Indian and dislike when he makes fun of Indians but are okay with all the other people he makes fun of.

Congratulations! You are nothing special.

Bateman's character was an ass. It was in his nature to talk like that, to make obnoxious statements. There was a bigger uproar around DiCaprio in Django, but again, we're talking about a racist plantation owner (though I've never heard of a non racist plantation owner). In both cases, it makes sense.

I get what you're saying although I still loved the movie.

Racism against any race other than Blacks is not considered racist in Hollywood. Blacks are TOO good at sports and music which is why they're a billion dollar industry which is why the industry has to suck up to them or no one would give a rat's ass.

Indians, Arabs, Chinese and other Asians are usually doctors or scientists in REAL LIFE rather than some basketball pro who makes millions but when you see a Hollywood movie you never see an Asian chief surgeon. You get a Black dude. Black culture sells, Asian doesn't. So it seems that only whites and blacks are doctors or scientists when it comes to Hollywood.

The racism isn't in this movie but in 99% of the rest of any Hollywood production that only has, I repeat, ONLY has a white and black cast. It's called double standards.

40 years ago Bruce Lee had to go to Hong Kong to become famous because he was too "Asian" for Hollywood. back then Blacks had their own shows(The Jeffersons, Sanford & Son, Shaft, Bill Cosby) but a Chinese guy was not wanted. 40 years later nothing has changed for Asians.

In this movie Jason's character was just a person who insulted everyone but he still ended up liking the Indian kid who didn't take anything he said seriously anyway. The Indian kid was portrayed as an extremely intelligent and nice kid so I didn't think the movie portrayed Indians in a negative way, not like in most Hollywood productions where Indians play a cab driver with an accent.
The movie was actually the opposite of racist.

That line was hilarious.
