Am I seriously the only person that found it sorta *beep* stupid that they're gonna keep setting up over and over just for one person?? I understand one setup, one final explanation to what she did, than either life incarceration or death penalty, but to continually reset so many times just seems dumb to me.
Was starting to think I was the only one. White Bear is by far my least favourite episode of Black Mirror.
It's the only episode in the entire series that made me go: "Nope, that would never happen...".
I mean, there's so much crazy technology going on in a lot of the episodes that will probably never actually exist, but it's sci-fi, so that's fine. But if we're speaking human behaviour, White Bear is the only ridiculously unrealistic episode of the series.
There will always be people who believe in that whole eye for an eye kind of punishment and just want to see criminals tortured and killed. But it would never ever ever come to a point where that kind of people make up such a vast majority of the population that a theme park like this could ever exist.
It was far too one-sided to be realistic. No one was against the setup. As viewers we're pretty much left to believe that everyone in the world are loving the White Bear theme park. If the park had been some secret and shady place, where justice sadists could pay a lot of money to see the torture of criminals, or if we they had at least put in some protesters who were against the whole thing, the episode could have made sense.
