I don't think so. I didn't see her as a typical liberal...but typical of many young people. Working hard on a physical level is not something they have grown up with..Best to save all energy for idealistic endeavors and leave real life to someone else.

It's rather unfortunate that you choose to view things in this way. Not every liberal wants to live the good life without working a minute of their lives, just as not all conservatives are bible thumping, gun toting, close minded Christians. Several people in my life are liberal and also happen to be some of the hardest working people I've ever know. At the same time, I know some conservatives who are lazier then Ashton Kutcher in "Dude, Where's My Car?"
I'm not here to argue politics, but I would like to say this. Perhaps you should at least attempt not to stereotype people. I couldn't care less that this is just a character in a movie. Odds are, if you're doing this towards fictional characters, and going so far as to post it online, you do the same thing, probably at a much higher degree, to people in real life.
And because people will most likely wonder/want to know: I grew up in a Christian household and until recently, was a member of the Republican Party. That isn't the case anymore. My affiliation has changed to the Democratic party due highly to my opinions on many social issues. Though, I do remain fiscally conservative.

I realize this is a forum on this movie and this thread veered from that, and because it did I would like to say:
I love how people say they're fiscally conservative and yet members of the Democrat (not Democratic) Party. How can you support people who want to take away my money and give it to other people who don't support themselves? If you work harder or work smarter you certainly deserve to have more and no one, NO ONE, has the right to take most of it away to give to anyone else.

Congrats on demonstrating you don't understand pretty much everything about how the world works.

You don't live in a vacuum. You survive, and enjoy the standard of life you have, because you're part of a functional society. One of the responsibilities of a society is the fact that it works to benefit everyone who lives in it.

Tax is the price you pay for the roads you drive on, and everything which is delivered by them. It is the price you pay for the infrastructure which brings your electricity, which delivers your water and ensures that it's clean and free of pollutants, which takes away your sewage and ensures it doesn't go in to your drinking water.

It's the price you pay for the level of technology you enjoy. For the social services which protect you; for EMS and fire departments.

If you make more money, you will have more money, regardless of tax.

You don't have the right to profiteer at the expense of the society which is set up to allow you to succeed.

The person you've responded to probably sees it more like this:
"One of the responsibilities of a society is that it works to benefit everyone who lives in it... so long as they contribute if they're able." Why should those who are able but do not contribute see the same benefits as those who do contribute? We're not talking about those unable due to disabilities (whether physical or mental). And even then, there are plenty of those with disabilities who can contribute in society with varying degrees of functionality.

You don't have the right to profiteer at the expense of the society which is set up to allow you to succeed.

Explain how what that poster said reveals in any way, shape or form that they're "profiteering at the expense of society"? If they're contributing, they're paying taxes (and plenty of taxes that go to programs that the person will never benefit from; the ones that they do benefit from, which you seem so keen on mentioning, were not part of their criticism). Furthermore, if they're even more successful than your average citizen, then they're contributing even more as their tax liability is higher. Generally speaking, people who make more money SPEND more money too, and quite often if they make a lot of money, are responsible for job growth in the private sector (whether directly or indirectly).

You guys have the mentality of children ("Everybody should have a gun because then we can all be heroes and stop massacres and be heroes like on TV and the in movies") and you even respond to others with the same level of mental retardation you would expect from somebody with limited intellect ("LOL"). Here is a tip:

Degrading someone is the worst way to get through to them. You're being just as rude as he is. I somewhat agree with you stating "his kind will be going away." However, if his kind completely disappeared or if liberal thinking overwhelmed the population there would be some serious backlash and even STRONGER conservatively opinionated people and groups develop. Look at the tea party. Look at Germanys history.

Typical liberal&Typical conservative= Typical American(and to a extend English/Canadian and Australian and anywhere else where there is the two or less party democracy).

Both sides are so childish in regard to pointing out mistakes at the other side that they totally ignore the simple fact that the biggest difference is not the colour of the election bannners but the total lack of any difference in true political colour.

You're all American and no matter what box you check you still are voting for the one that is winning.Untill the day that all political colours have to blend in order to form a goverment enjoy your phoney demo'crazy'.

Good job though seems like the whole world wants to follow your example and get rid of all choices in regard to political colour anyway.
