Why no female doctor yet?

It’s the ‘60s, there were a few women doctors around then.

There were, but it seems like they haven't started working in Poplar quite yet.

Also, girls were still often encouraged to become nurses rather than doctors in the 1960s.

While they were around in the 60s they likely were not around in the area this takes place

True, but this show has never been shy about inserting progressive storylines even when they seem a tad anachronistic. This has been especially noticeable in recent seasons. Curious why they haven’t explored the possibility of a female doctor, or at least feature a conversation where one of the nurses considers going to medical school.

maybe soon like the story lines so maybe they will come up with one soon at least the girls should come up with one in the hospital

🚨🚨🚨 It was a fast minute, but finally there was a female doctor in one of the hospital scenes. Still it was just a minor character.
