Why did they have to go there? Watching Jess being "pro-Hillary" isn't cute or endearing. It's just disgusting and repulsive. Why inject any politics at all in to a show like this one? Now, a lot of people including myself can never look at the character the same way again. Why didn't they have Cece join the Nazi party and show her having a zany side Nazi adventure while they were at it? Same thing in this case.
I agree keep politics out of our comedy shows. It's where ppl unwind and not want to think of politics and the bs that comes with it. Prob one of the worst episodes in the series.
Keep politics or of comedy??? Are you serious??? Comedy is supposed reflect supposed to reflect society and be and bring light to relatable situation, this election is all anyone in America is talking about and with a show with established feminists, democrats and republican characters they absolutely should discuss and joke about it.
Besides this was hardly biting political satire it was just hijinks situations created more from the characters than politics.
The characters have taken sides but they don't really tell the audience why, they just make jokes which rarely if at all are political.
All sides were represented, we do have a pretty strong indication on who the writers may be voting for but all in all it was harmless and respectful to all sides.

So you feel being respectful to the Republican ticket is showing drunk sorority girls only voting for him because of Ivanka's shoes or something like that? I don't like Trump one bit but the writers putting their political views in the show took all the humor out of the episode for me.

The day anybody lets Zooey Deschanel influence who the vote for is the day that person should just pack it in as a contributing member of society. I thought they could have used the same premise without giving specifics of affiliation for each character.
Oh come on, they're being relevant. Obviously Jess is a democrat, no matter who is running.
As a Canadian, abhorred by your entire election process and your nominees, I found the episode hilarious. Do you really think it swayed (or even tried to sway) voters? Definitely wasn't their aim.

I think it's funny that it's obvious that Jess would want to help with Hillary's campaign yet that's what the OP was complaining about. It clearly fits in with the show. The bigger political statement is that Schmidt was for Ryan 2020 rather than Trump 2016 and that the only Trump supporters were the sorority bimbos who only supported him because of Ivanka's shoes. So it weren't any pro-Hillary statements (in fact the office being super unorganized could be interpreted as anti-democrat), but there were some anti-Trump statements.

Yeah, because anyone knows members of the "liberal" Hive are always so independent minded and clear-thinking. That's why they think Big Brother is their best friend!
What in god's name are you talking about? I don't care who you are, if a sitcom or reality show has anything to do with how you're voting, you do not deserve the right to vote.
