Season 7 snoozefest

The first 3 seasons were stellar. Brody was an irreplaceable character..Then comes Quinn. Took me awhile to like him, but I eventually did. Now I have no investment whatsoever in the characters..I used to love Saul, but all he does is get taken hostage every five minutes. Carrie is a walking loose canon with the bi polar storyline (again). Someone help this show puleese.
Cant Brody come back from the dead? Perhaps his death was fake, and he is in hiding somehow?
Can anyone recall the scene where we saw him kneel down to pray in his garage? Now thats character development at its best. Come on, this show is dwindling fast. Something has got to give.

I don’t agree. Season 7 was the best season since Season 1 and to some extent Season 2. Season 1 was the best. It went downhill with Season 2. Brody wasn’t meant to last past Season 1 for obvious reasons. A terrorist who was responsible for the death of the American VP and more. Then this thing with their love affair came in and Showtime forced the writers to keep hm in. Carrie and Brody forever and that’s when the writing became awful. But it was great in S1 - their love affair at the cabin was fantastic - and then it ended when he realized she was CIA. After that, it was really just Carrie in love. S3 was the worst season with Brody a heroin addict in Caracas. And then they brought in Quinn who was a fantastic character which they didn’t know what to do with and killed him off and then realized their mistake and brought him back - tortured and compromised - yet one of the best acting performances of this whole series. Season 7 was the best writing and acting since S1 - great plotlines, directing, acting, everything - it was tight and no loose ends - evenly paced and really exciting. I think because of the great reviews, they were going to make S8 the last season. But I think they are re-thinking it. They are finally on the right track because for a few seasons there it really wasn’t so very good. I loved Brody and I have always liked Damian Lewis, but keeping him in so long really just ruined this series.
