I am a very, very picky show watcher. Game of thrones, dexter, breaking bad, and house of cards are about the only ones I've watched every episode of (got by far the favorite). The all have high 8s and mid to low 9s ratings. I absolutely loved this show from start to finish of season one, yet this show only has an 8.1. Is there a particular reason why people don't enjoy it on the levels of the aforementioned?

shareI started watching because of this thread because i'm like you and only like the best shows, but i'm not even halfway through the first episode and can tell you this show is *beep* I watched 2 cars full of armed Nazi's watch a truck drive away without firing a single shot at it. I was laughing my ass off at how bad that scene was. It's so cheesy

Wondering if you watched any further? I thought the same thing after watching that scene but in later episodes it makes sense for the truck to have been let go. I decided to keep watching and now that season 2 is available am hopeful this series will be worth it.

shareI am not convinced that the individual episode ratings are averaged for the show rating on the main page. I just did a calc and the number comes up higher than 8.0, though not by much (8.27).
I'm a little more than 1/2 way through re-watching season 1 and I find the show to be excellent. The acting is superb, especially from Rupert Evans, but most others as well, including Alexa Davalos and Rufus Sewell.
The details in the production are very good.
My theory: spend enough time in the IMDb forums and you get to notice patterns. For this show, the pattern seems to be a lot of people that dislike the way a Nazi regime is portrayed. It's really not pretty at all.
So you can guess what they would do to this shows ratings as a group, were they to organize.
Brevity is the soul of wit.
Just because a show got a "bad" rating doesn't mean the show is bad. Maybe the show just isn't interisting enough for most people. As long as you like it, why care about reviews ?

Anyway, I think our taste in TV series is to witness a slow paced, well written, non-cliche` plot. I like the plot of this series but 8.0 rating makes me wonder if shall I even be bothered to sit through it. But your comment is inspiring me to watch it. Thanks :)
