Jesse Plemons red glasses a symbolic reference to the MAGA hat?
What say you?
And imo, Children of Men is a much better film, Civil War has its moments but in the end is lazily plucking at low hanging fruit.

I think that's looking too deep into it.
shareI was originally thinking maybe the red glasses were meant to symbolize evil, the way demons and monsters are often given red eyes, but then I started thinking about the political leaning of the film and it got me thinking that maybe it’s Garland taking a jab at Trump.
Maybe it’s something, maybe it’s nothing, but I enjoy searching films for symbolic references, like the X’s in The Departed, or the oranges in The GodFather.
I think the bizarre choice of eyewear is to underline that this guy is nuts.
shareI have a pair of cheap neon blue sunglasses in my car. It like to be a little out there sometimes and I think the red glasses being outside of his normal army uniform made him look like he's nuts.
