Come on. Why do we have to see an actor Brosnan's age having an affair with an actress Alba's age? Why would you cast Mc Dowell a 72 year old as the father of 62 year old Brosnan? There are many believable age appropriate actors who could have made this a fast better film.
Happens a lot in films. Angela Lansbury played Elvis Presley's mother in blue Hawaii, and she was only eleven years older than him. And the actress who played Cary Grant's mother in North by Northwest was the same age as him.
