The main problem is LaKeith…

This dude was about the poorest choice you could’ve ever picked for a comedy lead - or even a straight-man lead. I think he was awesome in Atlanta, but be sucked out loud in this (god - the crying/"emotional" scenes...I almost started to laugh).

He has no charisma, no timing, no emotion, and he was outclassed by every supporting actor tenfold. Not to mention he mumbles every line. Yea the writing was mediocre, but a strong lead could’ve really elevated this claptrap.

I don’t expect we’ll see a whole lot more of him after this.

I assumed he had been in other things to get such a major role, but he was brutally bad in this.

He was alright. The writing and direction were not good and that was the main problem.

This is the only thing I've seen him in and felt his performance was much too low-key for the setting and story. The kid character thankfully made it relatable for kids that I was watching it with, but the main character was played by the wrong person. Someone more excitable would have made it a much funner film to watch.
