A Souless CGI Abortion

Remember when Spielberg used to make movies about people actually doing things in the real world? With RPO, you're literally watching a kid play a damn video game. Tron, Tron:Legacy, Wreck it Ralph, and Pixels did this better. RPO is appallingly bad.

Soulless? I disagree completely. Sure, a lot of the characters in the movie are just there to trigger nostalgia in people but they help to create a more believable and living world.

I grew up watching Spielberg's movies and I think RPO fits in very well with his catalogue of movies. I really enjoyed it.

it was a thoroughly enjoyable movie , the visuals were breath taking , just cause its based in a VR world doesn't make it any less enjoyable.

The CGI was too detailed, filled with action and moving too fast to actually follow sometimes. You're trying to absorb all this CGI overload eye-candy and it's moving too fast. It's really irritating. The kind of movie that suits freeze-frame.

Just saw it yesterday. You are right, it is horrible.

I'm 26 minutes in, and am trying to decide if it's worth it going any further. I think my life (real life!) even doing nothing is better than watching this...

I guess I am prejudiced in favor of this movie because it was just so refreshing to see something new. It is overwhelming to watch so many sequels, reboots...etc.

At least this is a new film with new characters and Universe.

Having said that, this is not Spielberg’s best work. But it is not his worst either (The Lost World, anyone?). This was an entertaining film that explored an aspect of society (gamer culture) that goes largely ignored. It had likable characters and decent acting.

I really enjoyed it and it touched the nerd in me, lol.
