Natalie Portman

I haven't watched the movie yet but do you think it would've been better if Natalie Portman was the main character? I heard she turned down the lead role.

I must say Blake did a very good job. I kind of hated her in the Green Lantern movie and I hadn't seen her in anything else so I wasn't expecting much from her but she did quite nicely. I was pleasantly surprised.
Natalie would've done an excellent job too. I think this is the kind of role that suits her.

I really liked Blake Lively in this role, far more than I expected. I didn't think she was necessarily a good enough actress for a role of this maturity, as I had always found her to be kind of unsure of herself on-screen and in a movie like this she would have to play the role with the self-assurance of a much older woman. However, she was great!

Portman might have also been great, or not. I think she'd kind of stopped trying tbh. She got her Oscar so now she thinks there's no need to work too hard anymore. I love some of her earlier performances but I'm glad they chose Lively for this role.

I think Portman would've been great. Blake was surprisingly great, but Portman would've been wonderful.

reply

Absolutely not. Blake was perfect for the role and she did a great job..
You need to watch it so you can see.

reply

Maybe Rachel Mcadams. But I don't think even she could have topped Blakes performance in this. Perfect casting for Adeline. Imo

I would have disliked Natalie Portman in this film. Especially her voice which I find irritating.

Blake Lively reminded me of a young Lauren Bacall or a 1940s actress. If you haven't watched the movie, why would you think it would have been better with Natalie Portman... just because she was originally in talks for it? So was Katherine Heigel. I can't even imagine what a shlockfest that would have been with her in the starring role.

I think Blake Lively was the perfect person to play Adaline.

This is Blake Lively's role! She was and is the best choice. Katherine Heigel and Natalie Portman are not as personable as Blake. Blake is charming and has great chemistry with the cast.

Can you imagine if Katherine Heigl played Adaline? This will go direct to video or production cancelled!!!!!

reply

Natalie Portman is an overrated annoying stumpie. I would rather see Kathy Bates in this role than her.

reply

Nooo.
1.Blake made this film.She's talented.
2.Portman has no style + she's overrated
I don't want to hear about Katherine Heigl at all
