Clearly top of the "Worst Ever SciFi Movie" list for the decades to come

After clumsily recycling every cliché from the first movie, Resurgence manages to depict the humans as an brainless, clueless mass of imbecilic and arrogant creatures making you wish the aliens would succeed in wiping out this moronic, embarrassing semi-intelligent caricature of the human race. Resurgence is such an insult to logic, science and basic knowledge that I truly believe the whole movie crew, director, actors, producers, etc should apologize to the SciFi community and really consider stay away from making SciFi movies ever again. There isn't one single minute during this horrific mockery of a movie when sheer ignorance and stupidity isn't present at mesmerizing and unprecedented magnitude. Viewing the movie I saw the reason why Will Smith elegantly rejected the role and thus avoid a clear path towards a nomination for a Golden Raspberry Award.

I was going to skip this movie, I mean it is a "Sequel" But after watching Red Letter Media review, http://redlettermedia.com/half-in-the-bag/... I had to watch it, What a great campy Sci-fi, I laughed a lot at the whole opening dialog... This is a fun watch. Why would any other race waste the time and effort when they know we can do the job on our own at our "Own" cost.

This is like a really good redone 1950 sci-fi. Nothing like "The Forbidden Planet" was good, but sorta good in that way. I mean, I really felt the Ignorance of the ability for an audience to accept and let this stuff be made, are we back in the 40's and 50's?

Whoa Snowflake, tone down the hyperbole, sure it's a bad sequel but if you think it's the worst sci-fi film ever, or that youre owed good films by Hollywood's summer blockbuster machine then maybe you should wait until adulthood before forming any more opinions.

I take it I hurt your hollywoodian night guard pride. Sorry!

No, you didn't. No need to apologise. :-)

It's not the worst (last fantastic 4 comes to mind), but it sure is expensively bad. Taken in consideration how much money they got burned in it, that is heavy burden in judgin how bad it come out. Sure we can find worst in some asylum scyfy channel straight to cable, but the cost to make them is about one minute worth of this pile of poo so it's no contender. And I liked the first one ID4. Even today, it has some moments. This has nothing to hold on. Good actors wasted. Great production and efx effort wasted. So bad thing is that lots of this money and assets could'we got into some good writers and original stories for other new original movies like it's the case in nowadays tv shows. TV series from the top shelf today are making circles around dumb blockbuster sequels and remakes (with some exceptions) for fraction of the money.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is responding this way, but, I don't have time to read all of the replies. As bad as I thought this movie was, however, I can't put it in front of After Earth.

As "A" brainless, not as "An" brainless! If you're going to criticize the writers of being presumptive, cliche and brainless, Try to exude proper Spelling and grammar in your critique.

Most IMDB trolls are uneducated and have never been to school.

How many languages do you speak Mr Grammar?
