Natalie Portman doesn't deserve to have 2 Oscars

She's not Cate Blanchett or Meryl

She didn't even deserve the one she got for Black Swan

reply

You're nuts

Especially, since she even deserve the first one...

She is excellent in this movie, but I am rooting for Amy Adams this year, myself.

reply

Yeah, it's a toss-up between Emma Stone and Amy Adams this year.

There is another reason to fill your heart with hatred.

reply

Amy Adams is a far superior actress, She has a great range (which I wouldn't claim about Portman) and certainly deserves her first Oscar more than Porkman deserved hers.

reply

Absolutely agree

reply

I'd quite like to root Amy Adams myself.

reply

You're right. Portman does NOT deserve two Oscars. She deserves THREE Oscars. Maybe, four. Or five. Yes, FIVE!

reply

I think Portman is a little overrated but she deserved it for Black Swan.

Who else deserved It that year?

reply

Jennifer Lawrence (before she became the annoying star) in Winter's Bone

reply

She became the annoying star after winning an Oscar for Silver Lining Playbook, so that would have just accelerated the inevitable.

reply

We'll never know.

I agree in principle. IMO she's not a terribly gifted actress and didn't deserve to win for Black Swan. That being said, she's really good in Jackie and it would just be another case of the timing being off if she loses chiefly because voters don't want to award her a second time. In a vacuum, she'd be a worthy winner this year.

I agree. She is so amateurish.

Her acting has changed little from when she was an adolescent/young adult.

Where the Heart is was on the other day and man she's terrible. Anywhere but here was bad too.

Black Swan was ok, but you can always tell that she's playing dress-up.

reply

Folks, did you see Arrival? If Amy Adams wins for that, Jennifer Lawrence wins for Passengers. I think Viola Davis has it, personally. But cast your vote for Natalie because this was an amazing role and she knocked it out of the park.

reply

I haven't seen "Jackie" yet, but I did see "Fences" and Viola Davis was SUPERB. If she's in the Best Actress Category, she will be a tough one to beat. Honestly, I think she deserves it.

But she will more than likely be in the Best-Supporting Category, in which case it will probably go to either Natalie or maybe Emma Stone. I don't think Amy Adams deserves it I'm sorry... Way too many stronger performances this year.
