Some had great careers that are still going, some had mediocre careers, and some never worked in the business after 1989. Thems the breaks. You want a steady job, don’t be an actor! End of story.

reply

Anthony Michael Hall and Mare Winningham yes.

The rest weren't in the brat pack

reply

you're just listing young 80s actors

reply

yeah whilst there is a actual list thats just how most peple look at it ,

probly ony said pack themselves that are all like "hey we did this movie , then this one together , we're a pack" !

reply

The only "brat pack" actor in your list is Anthony Michael Hall. None of the others were considered that.

reply

Why is that idiot Jon Cryer not on there? 🤣

reply

He wasn't a Brat Packer! He was obnoxious 🤪

reply

It looks like he's claiming to be one now.

reply

Ugh, that is the last label I would want. I dunno about that guy. I don't dislike him as an actor but I did find him to be very annoying 🤷‍♀️

reply

"Two and a Half Men" is a decent though annoying show what with Charlie Sheen and his drug-addled sex fiend rep. I even forgot that Jon Cryer was the annoying nerd in 80's teenage movies. But yeah, Cryer is cringe.

reply

I always preferred Frank Whaley over Cryer. It's a shame his career didn't go anywhere. I never watched "Two and a Half Men" but I think I may some day. I've never really been into sitcoms but there are a few I'd like to give a try 😊

reply

Lol. I looked up this Frank Whaley. He is definitely a "Jon Cryer" type!

I'm not a big sitcom fan either. There are few I actually like (the old classic "I Love Lucy" and "Seinfeld"). But "Two and a Half Men" is one of the more interesting ones.

reply

He certainly is! I can see him playing all of Jon Cryer's roles but without the added annoyances. He was awesome in his bit role in Pulp Fiction 😊

Something about Jon has always bothered me. I don't know, maybe he reminds me of someone I disliked in school or something, lol. But I'm still going to give Two and a Half Men a try 😁 I have to admit, despite his troubles, flaws and mistakes I do still enjoy Charlie Sheen on screen.

reply

You're just making a list of prominent 80's actors. While some of these people were in movies with the brat pack, it doesn't mean they were in the club.

Think:
Emilio Estevez
Anthony Michael Hall
Rob Lowe
Andrew McCarthy
Demi Moore
Judd Nelson
Molly Ringwald
Ally Sheedy

Many of those films were John Hughes and Joel Schumacher films.

reply

I never understood why Demi was part of that pack anyway.

reply

Most likely St. Elmo’s Fire. And possibly About Last Night.

reply

Those are the same actors/actresses I think of as well, with respect to the Brat Pack. Well done!

reply

WHAT WAS MISSING WAS A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT THE BRAT PACK...WHAT WE GOT WAS EXPENSIVE GROUP THERAPY FOR FAMOUS PEOPLE.

reply

Ok

reply

🙂

reply

Yes, I just commented in another thread about this that I wish the format for this would have been different. I would have liked to have had all the actors/actresses in the same room with a relaxed "round-table discussion" and see where the conversations would have gone. They really needed Judd Nelson and (especially) Molly Ringwald for this also. Their absences were really noticable.

I like Andrew McCarthy as an actor and I feel like he had a nice career. But I didn't like the way he came across in this. You did a good job describing it in your post...I felt like this could have been better than what it ended up being.

reply

don’t us forget about them

reply

Mare Winningham was never considered to be in the Brat Pack. I wonder if she regretted that in the 80's but is lucky now she wasn't in it. Andrew never mentioned her or contacted her for his documentary.
