Why Alison always wear big clothes?

We get it, she's a plus size but putting her in giant overalls doesn't help her appearance at all. For a show that emphasize on fashions they always give Alison (coincidentally the only plus size girl) the worse clothings.

I can feel Sasha's lack of confidence standing beside the other four. In some of the scenes, watching Ali always appears to be uncomfortable as if the actress is not confident in her own skin. The actress looks better outside of the show.

The costume department doesn't seem to know how to dress someone that is regularly sized or slightly plus sized. They either make Sasha wear clothes that are too tight and make her look like a sausage or some weird tent sized clothes. There are plenty of styles that would make her look gorgeous but somehow the costume department seems to have never heard of them.

i think at least part of that is just the way alisons character is these days. she started gaining weight around the time that she started playing mopey sad alison.

She probably feels self conscious next to the other girls, particularly Troian and Shay who are both rake thin. I think she looks beautiful, though.

I think she's only few sizes bigger than Ashley Benson but the difference is Ashley actually looks confident and comfortable with her own curves. It's not about the size, it's how Sasha brings herself but the clothing dept in this show definitely doesn't help either.

Really? It seems like Ashley Benson has lost a lot of weight and is MUCH thinner (not that either of these beautiful actresses are overweight - its Hollywood BS pressuring them to be thin). I think the "Hollywood BS" is why Ashley has gotten a lot thinner in the last couple of years. I think Sasha is still young and so gorgeous who will eventually lose the weight but I don't want the "Hollywood BS" to make her go overboard b/c some actresses (not on this particular show) get too thin and it made them look so gauntly in the face, hell a friend of mine lost a lot of weight (she needed to for health reasons) but she went "too far" and now she looks like she's 10-15 years older in her face and neck area. I mean for all we know Sasha may have a thyroid problem that is why she put on weight, I don't think it was for the Alison role either; I wish the wardrobe department would dress character of Alison better as well, they have plenty of stylish plus size clothing they could do much better and dress Sasha/Alison properly. I think giving Sasha better clothes to wear would boost her confidence as well b/c right now the wardrobe department has it all wrong and need to quit dressing her in these hideous outfits. Sasha/Alison has such a beautiful face and again they do have stylish plus size clothing that would look amazing on her. ENOUGH W/THE BIG TENTS!

Well, she pretty much had to dressed appropriately decent at a workplace.

I'm guessing the outfits is what the showrunners decided to make as part of her 'helpless' personality at home.

Apart from the stylists being crappy, I think you are right.
She isn't uncomfortable in her own skin. She is always crossing her arms awkwardly like in an attempt to hide, or intentionally slouches her shoulders to make them seem narrower. It's in stark contrast to her body language in earlier seasons.

She even avoids posting anything but selfies on her Instagram. She *is* pretty underconfident now and all the body shaming has clearly affected her big time.

I also notice she keeps reposting old photos of her when she was thin, that's the only post where the whole body is shown. By being unconfident, she actually is feeding the body shamers an ego boost.

I think that, like the other girls, that some outfits work for Ali and some do not. I like seeing Ali in bold outfits that emphasise her shape like in the first scene she has with Rollins at the school. Clothes like her baggy cat eye sweater don't look as nice in my opinion. I wasn't particularly keen on her jackets and stuff she wore just after returning home (thought it looked too adult for her) but I think the way she dresses amazing sometimes and not so great at other times perhaps helps highlight the fact that the character is continuing to find her true self.
