It's Netflix, guess what

Everyone is gay, racially diverse, the whole 9 yards of woke.

Seriously canceling the service next month JUST because of this shit they keep ramming us with

reply

I have to totally agree. I have only watched the first two episodes, but i noticed the below, which is way beyond any sexual orientation averages.
SPOILERS BELOW
- Four of Roderick's six children are gay/bisexual.
1. the Black lesbian daughter (doctor/researcher).
2. the Arabic guy who has almost no screen time, except to tell us he has a boyfriend but still enjoys blowjobs from women.
3. The youngest son (Prospero) who wakes up in a bed full of naked men and women, and seems to have a three-way
relationship with a woman and a trans person.
4. the daughter with the two assistants (one male - who sometimes wears a skirt and one female) who she gets in bed
with at the same time.
-On top of that, they make sure to tell us that the male US Attorney has a husband waiting for him at home.
- Then, the other sister (who has no background except that she is married to a fitness personality) likes to hire prostitutes so she can masturbate while watching the prostitute simulate having dinner with her husband.
- Lastly, there is constant talk to of penises, pussies and blowjobs.

Who wrote this shit? I am not familiar with Poe's original work, but how could it be anything like this?

I guess the moral of the story is .. All rich people are depraved sex fiends.

reply

I haven't seen this, but I have read Poe's story and can absolutely say that none of that is in it! 😂

reply

Wow. Taking complete liberty with Poe's work.

reply

Ya I'm tapping out after the 1st episode.
It's too distracting - all the forced wokeness.
Thx for detailing what was ahead.

reply

Lastly, there is constant talk to of penises, pussies and blowjobs.

And farts too. Nearly every episode, somebody's throwing out a line or two about farting. It was weird.

reply

Depends how you see it.

All that can be a representation of their decadence, depravence and perversity, one more reason for they not being redeemable.

reply

Mike Flanagan's made some good stuff, but it seems with each new project he's had to sacrifice more to Netflix just to get his shows made. Even if it's technically well-acted and well-shot, the quotas injected into Netflix shows just keeps getting more glaring and distracting.

The only Netflix show that did diversity right was Cobra Kai, and even then, it originally started on YouTube.

reply

Oh, Noes! Not "woke"!!!!

Why don't you go run and hide under your bed before the big, bad wokes come get you?

LOL.

reply

Even if it wasn't woke, it still sucks. Go read my standalone comment in this thread. I explain why the show still sucks even if you ignore the woke crap.

reply

But...but.... the woke. It's so scary. It's all that matters.

Whatsoever shall we do? It's so scary.

reply

Not scary at all. Just stupid.

reply

It is pretty ridiculous. There isn't a family on earth with this kind of racial diversity or this high percentage of LGBT members.

Also, it is impossible to believe that Roderick is the biological father of three of these kids. There is nothing wrong with having a diverse cast, but basic biology still exists. Why not just say that they were adopted?

reply

Because if they were adopted they wouldn't have died. I assume you didn't watch it to the end.

reply

Fair point about the adoption. I posted this before watching the whole thing.

The family make up remained absurd throughout the series.

reply

It is a FICTIONAL story. Why aren't you crying about how totally unrealistic it is that Verna can turn herself into a raven and blow up houses too? Get real. You're too silly to even comment further on.

reply

Hmmm, damn, some people are really dumb ...

reply

6 children by 5 mothers ... well ...

I knew I should've stopped after the first episode. I should've stopped when I got the red flags of almost everyone being gay/lesbian or bi. Plus the family being diverse. But everyone kept saying the show was REALLY good so I kept watching it. But the show never got better. The first episode already spoiled that everyone dies, so already off to a bad start. I was never interested in the characters either and the show never did anything to make me care about them. The show's narrative was boring. All the horror was just lame jumpscares. The episodes I'm sure could've been all under 50 minutes. No need to make every episode 1 hour or more (last episode for example is 1 hour 16 minutes). And then the ending was lame and not worth it. I should've said eff it and stopped watching after the first episode. The first episode had enough red flags in to tell me to stop. Now it's definitely hard to believe anyone and everyone when they start praising stuff. Plus when they praise stuff and don't go into further detail on why it's good. Oh and I'm done with Mike Flanagan. I'm considered him one of the most overrated directors and maybe writers out there. I haven't liked a single thing since The Haunting Of Hill House. Everything is other a letdown or meh at best. So I'm done with Mike Flanagan. Not watching any future movie or shows he makes.

reply

Yup. They tick all the boxes right off the bat (and then some). It takes you right out of the show.

reply

If it ain't white/(male/christian/republican), it ain't right?

reply

If it ain’t black (female/LGBT/POC/Muslim/democrat), take it back?

reply

If it ain’t black (female/LGBT/POC/Muslim/democrat), it probably ain't Netflix.

reply

pretty much sums up how these obsessive complainers think.

makes me laugh how the king whiner is considering cancelling Netflix next month, probably been saying that for years. but instead of making some sort of committed stand against it such as cancelling subscription he instead chooses to keep it and inundate us with his constant complaints. they're all like this. if they actually cancelled their subscriptions instead of just crying maybe something would actually change.
