Well I was brought up on country music .. my daddy could play any instrument that was put in front of him ... I could clog long time before I could do the funky chicken .. Check out on U-tube The Delmore Brothers .. 2 songs come to mind " Blues Stay Away From Me " and "The Peach Tree Street Boogie " .. My daddy was in a small band that played square dances every weekend .. and when the twist became popular , I won the dance contest everytime .. other kids begged me to dance with them , so they would win the prize of one dollar ..By the time I was a teenager in the late 60's and the early 70's .. great time to be a teenager I might add .. well , I left country music behind ..It was the Beatles , the Stones , Rod Stewart .. I could go on and on ... As I got older I realized that my roots were in country music .. without it , I would not be the woman that I am today .. I guess my friend you have to have something to be apart of your life for it to be special .. but you still can respect it .. You can't be a true lover of music unless you can find good in all music .. I'm 57 and white , but you let MC Hammer come on the radio and I'm ready to bust a move .. and I can still dance just as good as a 16 year old can today .. Give other music a try my friend .. you just might find that you like " some " of it .
