OK, why do you want to see this film?

As I write this post, Country Strong has not gone into wide release. There does seem to be a lot of strong opinion on this board both positive and negative about CS. I don't want to see it. I'm not a country music fan, but I do like Gwyneth Paltrow and try to see her films when I can. I saw Crazy Heart last year, thought it was great and this movie just looks too much like it's ripping off CH. That's why I won't see it. Why do people defending this movie sight unseen want to see it? I'm just curious.

I saw it because I do very much love country music! And because I was already a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw.

I love Gwyneth, I love country. So, why not!

OH! Just watched it. By no means not a classic, but the music was terrific. Had a great evening.

I don't like Country Music either but I like Gwyneth's movies and also for the Tron guy, he's a hottie lol

"Let me see your peaCOCK?"

And to follow up my previous post, I am glad I did decide to see it. I expect it to go over very well with my movie group.

I'm the kind of guy, when I move - watch my smoke. But I'm gonna need some good clothes though.

It was a great movie in every aspect other than the directing and editing could have been done better, But excellent! those things by no means ruin this movie, the music and acting is awesome! A great idea is to watch it twice, so you get more understanding the second time, just saying.

It's a great movie too! Really you should see it, especially if you liked Crazy heart, the music and acting is great in this one too. Now it's done, put together, or directed near as well as Crazy Heart that's for sure, but a really enjoyable film.

I think those who are now discovering it are more even minded about it. Movies about country western singers seem to draw a lot of criticism when they're first released, but obviously there's a strong audience for them.

Life, every now and then, behaves as though it had seen too many bad movies

I just love it! great, touching movie!

This is a truly grown up movie. You should not watch this movie if you don't have any experience with alcohol, otherwise you won't even understand it.

How does the saying go, if you have to explain it they'll never understand,
if they get it right away then you don't have to explain it.

I didn't want to see it until I heard a song from the soundtrack called "Me and Tennessee". Then I wanted to see how the song fit in the storyline. It was used as part of the end titles.

I wasn't impressed by the film. It was ok, but I thought it was too predictable. I mean honestly, once you've seen one of these films you've seen them all and other than Beau, no one blew me away with their performance. Even Beau only blew me away because he's soo adorable.

The song however will be one of my favs forever.

You're a country music fan and haven't seen this? I'll recommend this since A. I'm not a country music fan and enjoyed the story and songs B. Garrett Hedlund is a strong lead, talented singer and has chemistry with both actresses. I just watched the last scene again!

I love this film I have watched on Showtime about 6 times already. It's just entertaining as heck and the music is great.I never liked Gwenyth before but she's great in this movie. Same with Meester- she is adorable.

You've probably seen it by now, but if you haven't and wanna watch it to see Gwyneth Paltrow, you're wasting your time, I guess. She's her old sparkly self, but can't really pull the "country music singer" angle, unfortunately. Just doesn't have that... "spark", I guess you could call it, that singers and actors had before her (ex. Sissy Spacek as Loretta Lynn, etc.)
This whole drug addiction/alcoholism/road fever side-story's worn out by now. We've all been there, we all have our demons and choose to fight them, or ignore them or whatever. I watched this music primarily for loving country music, and their soundtrack was... meh. If you watched it, did you enjoy it?

Thank you, IMDb, for letting people calling each other idiots without the F word.
