OK, why do you want to see this film?

As I write this post, Country Strong has not gone into wide release. There does seem to be a lot of strong opinion on this board both positive and negative about CS. I don't want to see it. I'm not a country music fan, but I do like Gwyneth Paltrow and try to see her films when I can. I saw Crazy Heart last year, thought it was great and this movie just looks too much like it's ripping off CH. That's why I won't see it. Why do people defending this movie sight unseen want to see it? I'm just curious.

I went because I love country music and I'm a big fan of Garrett Hedlund. He was really good, completely stole the show.

I never saw Crazy Heart, but I do like that one song from it...

So they are not allowed to make more than 1 movie about Country? Only Rap music is worthy of getting multiple movies. We know we cant make a serious movie about Alternative or there will be a mass suicide.

I saw this on a first date. The girl I'm seeing now is a HUGE country fan and I like it somewhat. Before I could even finish asking what movie she wanted to see she said this one. I knew nothing about it going in but in the end I ended up really liking it. Not loving it, just really liking it. The music was amazing, probably more than the movie itself. It's not a story driven movie. Rather it is a character driven movie. You don't know everything about the characters and that's fine. I still had unanswered questions when it was over but I still enjoyed it. It was a good date movie.

Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the dark side.

Garrett Hedlund. I think this guy has tons of promise. I don't dislike Gwyneth Paltrow at all and loved her in Shallow Hall, for one. I think she's beautiful and carries herself with grace. But I do not like her singing. I just wish she wouldn't keep wandering onto the Glee set. :oD

Thank God America didn't want to see this movie. The best thing about it is no sequel.

Well, I'm scheduling it for my movie group at my apartment complex. There are country fans here and the trailer looked decent, so we'll be watching it the Friday after the DVD release.

I'm the kind of guy, when I move - watch my smoke. But I'm gonna need some good clothes though.
