Arnold made a mistake. Should have done what the rest did.

Arnold tried to make his 1st comeback with an unknown project. No idea what "The Last Stand" is, the character, or the story.

When Bruce Willis made his comeback, he did a new DIE HARD. Brought back his signature franchise. Built in audience.

When Stallone came back, he came back with a one-two punch (pun not intended) of Rocky AND Rambo. Two of the most famous film franchises of history.

Arnold should have just came back with a new TWINS 2, or Kindergarten Cop 2. Even a new PREDATOR, or a sequel to Running Man.

I remember reading about his other choice before he filmed the Last Stand. Cry Macho which seemed like a much more interesting film along the lines of a Gran Torino rather than another dull action movie. It would have been a great comeback in the sense that we see him breaking new ground in his filmography and showing the world that he has something new to offer rather than retread old ground. Challenbge the audience's expectations.

But choosing this project really shown me that sometimes... er... most times action movies aren't for everybody. Or at least for everybody anymore.

Arnold's time away from the spotlight has really taken its toll. Granted he wasn't the greatest actor but man... he seemed to have lost all of his charisma. The line delivery... the lack of emotions. Example: When Arnold's being stabbed in the leg on the bridge, he couldn't even summon his signature groan of "AW-ahhhhEHHHHHrragh! AHHHHehhhiegh!!!!

Certain actors work in certain roles but this role wasn't suited for Arnold. It needed a more everyman kind of actor. But watching this, I'm not sure if the Terminator is suited for him either. I say they can use his likeness and digitize him again like Terminator Salvation but I'm not sure he should make anymore action films. I'll check out Escape Plan because maybe this was a misfire but I'll wait and see.
