Shot at five times from 10 yards and all the buillets missed?

This flm was confused between the idea of making a realistic thriller like...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1060255/
but made the mistake of relying upon outlandish occurances to turn the plot upon.
One particularly outrageous and annoying incident was when Benny was shot at from close distance and all the bullets missed. Very groan inducing.
Otherwise, it was a competent and watchable film.

it is hard to shoot a man whey you are afraid wounded in the dark

You've never shot a handgun in your life or that question would never have occurred to you.

Guys. Jimmy was a badass. He scared the *beep* out of the guy who missed 6 times. End of story.

The missed shots struck me as a bit silly too. Pretty good movie overall though.

One other point I have to make about this. Remember Unforgiven? Little Bill talked about being "cool-headed" when shooting someone and/or taking fire. That's why at the end of Unforgiven...

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

everyone missed William Munny in that gunfight. They were all scared. They were not cool-headed. Munny on the other hand kept his cool and that's why he was able to win the gunfight. THAT'S why I don't find it so ridiculous that the bloodied, injured, scared, hysterical Benny from Red Hill missed Jimmy.

he wasnt hit because he was protected by something until he had taken his vengance. That was the whole point of showing the panther during and after the film.

I honestly assumed he had blanks. They didn't trust him with live ammo when it came to it, gave him blanks and just hoped that the threat of being shot was going to be enough if he was the one to run into Jimmy.

It made sense to me.

Another thing that makes perfect sense is what others have said, in real life if you're very nervous it's rather easy to miss your shot. If you miss you're first shot and, like he was, you rapid-fire the recoil is going to send you so far off target you'd be lucky to even keep the bullet in town.

Whatever the reason? He missed 6 times and Jimmy did his stuff. But, this was the same Jimmy that is a crackshot with a hand gun and can shoot rooftop snipers without blinking an eye. He can also appear behind you from no where as if the spirit world took him there by magic. But, best of all he can be hit by a car, thrown over another cars bonnet and doesn't get a scratch. Super Jimmy.....the Lord of Vengence...!!!

There are two ways to shoot a gun. Point it at something and pull the trigger, and aim it at something and pull the trigger.

Believe it or not if all you do is point, especially with a powerful revolver, you will miss half your shots against a man sized target at 20 feet. If you are shaking with fear and because of a recent auto accident and only point, you will genuinely be lucky to hit the target even one time.
