Am I the only one who HATED Number 6?

Eveything about her seriously irked me. She came across as a huge, mega-bitch. She also had the stupidest, most arrogant-sounding lines--like the redbull one, and how about John being 'good' with his hands? Ugh. Just the way she talked made me cringe.

Her outfit (really, fingerless leather gloves?) and nasty smudged blue eye shadow all screamed "Look at me, I'm so badass, I can do whatever the hell I want!"

And the explosion? Please. I can forgive cliches if they work well. That was just stupid. I sat there the entire movie, wishing that someone, anyone, would put her in her place.

But I seem to be the only one here...

That's why I liked her, she was a bad bitch.

I agree with dsgooden, haha.

she did have some bad lines but she was good

reply

I can appreciate a bit of well-deserved bitchiness, but hers was just off the charts irritating.

And it wasn't just the bitchiness, it was everything I mentioned--the way she dressed, the way she acted, the things she said....she was just a monumentally horrid character in my humble opinion, that's all.

reply

u guys are nuts no6 was the best thing about the movie ..tess palmer was great better than prettyboy alex

reply

no Berney the chimera-dog was the best part, but no6 was pretty awesome!

reply

yeah number 6 was amazing, from all the trailers her fight sequence was the main reason i wanted to see it and it wasnt disapointing cant wait for sequal

reply

I'm all in with kamen70-1!! Teresa Palmer was definitely the surprize and golden horseshoe of this film.

Hell I bought the film so I could have reruns, 2nd's, 3rd's, and 4ths of her every scene! I was impressed by this actress that's for sure.

Don't blame it on Number 6. That's just how a bad book makes the basis for a bad screenplay and a poorly executed film. That entire thing was so cliche it makes Twilight look like a deeply intellectual film and book.

Same here, don't be envious ;-)

reply

Yup! Cause I loved her performance! You understand of course she's up against Dianna Agron (Sarah Hart) who given her natural ability to convey emotion through her eyes and facial expressions; moreover, a las, she was cast as the Prom Queen gone wayward against the stream...

Therein folks is aspiration for plot making or at the very least...a story line. When #6 arrives on the scene she is alien through and through; meticulously watching over #4 from afar even while Henri was still alive!

Look the actress was given a quasi-alien-chick-mean-mofo-bada$$ as a character - anybody ready and able to step in? Didn't think so. From her lines of "stay tuned" to "oh you've made friends..." all the way to "...you slow us down I'll kill you myself" both Sam and #6 had smirks so you've got to know she was joking.

Originally I thought she was from Brisbane insofar as she almost had a drawl and her speech was slower than other urban Aussie's; then after about 10 minutes of listening to her, I literally stated, "either Perth or somewhere in WA or Adelaide."

I thoroughly believe that this mob was rather discontent with the film and unfortunately some are taking it out on Tess Palmer. She was (for me) the standout insofar as her acting was gr8 and her fight sequences were very well done. Especially riding that "thing" down the stadium bleachers! She just killed everything.

She looked like Shakira and had the most ridiculous lines ever....."redbull is for pussi3s!" omgwtflololol. No. She pained me to watch, actually.

reply

omgwtflololol

And YOU talk about ridiculous?

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

reply

You're a woman, so it's normal to see her as a threat and hate her.

Remember the scene where she battles the two Mongolians in the school corridors. After the battle is over and she introduces herself, Dianna gave her the "stinking" look. Best scene in the whole movie, well worth the spend money.

No you are not the only one who found number 6 painful. Her accent that fluctuated annoyed me no end (and I am Australian), her lines were silly (not that she could necessarily help that - but her delivery - ergh!)
Totally miscast I felt.

reply

[deleted]

Nah that's a Perth accent for a 'small city' they have an unusually bogan slang accent.

Not like Sydney or Melbourne dwellers, which have a more urbane accent.

I couldn't actually understand what she was saying in her first lines.

Actually Teresa Palmer was making fun of it cause people in the U.S think she has a fancy accent but in Australia she sounds so lower class and unsophisticated.

reply

Actually, it's an Adelaide accent, which is better than the East coast accent - speaking of bogans. And we were settlers, not a bunch of convicts sent over here because we're a bunch of thieving b*stards

reply

uh huh, settlers - guess you "settlers" have done TONS of mingling with all those thieving bastards then because your accents sound pretty meshed for such a short period of time

She was the best part

I really liked her too, because I wasn't expecting her and when she did arrive, she really kicked arse in a major way.

BTW I loved her accent.

2 x BTW I am a big fan of the beagle as well.

I want a sequel.

This.

reply

No, you're definitely not the only one irked by her. And this is actually coming from someone who usually loves everything TP does... Not this though. She was all bitch and no character. It just seemed like they were trying waaaaaay to hard to let us know that Six is a BAMF. It's like ok, we get it already, there's no need to make her such a ginormous virago. Kicking ass should have been enough, but they made her some kind of she-devil or something. And those terrible lines... Oh my god, thinking about it just gave me a nosebleed.

.......
Jared's here, heat up the wax gun -"Big Rob" from the set of House of Wax.

reply

Number 6 proves that good looks can't save your pathetic acting ability

reply

I think it was the lines.

Just look at the last line of hers in the film, it made me scratch my head, so bad it was.

"If you slow us down, I'll kill you myself" wtf? Would she really kill someone if they slowed them down?

So it seems her character was not only a megabitch but a cold blooded killer, lol.

reply

well in the US we think any accent sounds sophisticated or cool...

she's hot!

reply

I agree, Jensen. The way they kept pushing her "badness" on the audience was dangerously close to parody. The creators seemed to be screaming "Do you see how cool she is?"

Me: "Yeah, no, I get it. She rides a big motorcycle and walks slowly away from explosions. I understand what that means."

Movie: "Just look at all her weapons!"

Me: "I see what you're doing. She keeps whipping out new weapons or skills but never loses that stoic face. She must be a hero. You don't have to-"

Movie: "And the one-liners! Did you hear the one-liners?"

Me: "She's the next John McClane, I know! You don't have to keep beating me with it! Geez!"

reply

Totally agree with you and Jensen_Ackles_addict. They focused so much on emphasising she's a badass they didn't flesh out the rest of her character at all. She was pretty one-dimensional. In fact I don't think she can even be considered a character. The only purpose she had was to kick John into action and give him some balls, because clearly he had none before she showed up. They used her badass temperament to emphasise he was hardcore by showing he was actually badass beneath the sensitive nice-guy persona. So basically they used her to make him look good.

Also the lines she had were terrible. That Redbull line made me cringe. Although I have to say, I will take a superficial badass over a lame damsel-in-distress any day. The whole Sarah Hart character was a huge cliche.

I only do it with superheroes.

reply

she was a tough girl... had to be that way... she was good...

reply

I couldn't stand her either. All she was good for was her 'hot' appeal and nothing else. Her character was badly written and her acting was terrible. She overdid it in every scene.

The blue-screen explosion was not only bad CGI it was ridiculous and added NOTHING to the film.

Other than my annoyance with number 6, I was very happy with the film as a whole. Loved the character Sarah and Sam as well.

was Sarah, (dianna argon's) character??

anyway the girl who played 6 seems young and inexperienced so...

reply

I didn't like her flirtatious attitude (thought it was way too strong) but I still liked her character BECAUSE of the fact that she was a bitch and dressed as a badass. However, her makeup artist needs some help. I understand dark shadow as a greaser-type of accessory, but her makeup just made her look like a damn crackwhore.

reply

flirtatious?? what did she do??

reply

"You work well with your hands."

She did not mean his legacies. Number Six was flirting with Number Four.

reply

how was that flirting??

reply

It insinuated that she thought he was good looking. Or that he jerks off. Or that he might be good at grasping her female body parts, if the situation ever occurred.

reply

ahahaha

reply

Everyone jerks off!!

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

reply

I just saw it today. The best thing about it was that we had the entire IMAX theater to ourselves. I liked Number 6 way better than Sara. I thought No 6 did have a lot of flirtaitious lines, but that's not the actress' fault.

I can't understand why No 4 doesn't dump Sara for No 6. She is so much more interesting.

I also love the dog. I have a beagle who is cute but is now old.

reply

I liked number 6. So far, I've liked her in all her movies.
