It's pretentious, has a messy plot, dumb characters and it fails at trying to be smart. The pacing is bad. The characters are written about a step up from the AVP characters. The ideas don't mesh. The horror was unfocused.
A lot of people like how it looks and the ideas... but a lot see what I just listed and don't care for it.
Visually, this movie is fucking Dazzling and receives an A+ and anyone who says otherwise simply didn't watch it or had it out for this movie to begin with. What moviegoers DID object heavily to was shoehorning the ALIEN subplot at the end to tie this together with ALIEN instead of just making it a standalone movie and ALIEN: COVENANT didn't help either. Elizabeth Shaw and her dumb boyfriend should've done their research better on the planet they were going to 1/2 a Billion miles away from home and putting people's lives at risk in the process
