Not bad except for Rhianna
This movie was really not as bad as the critics made it out to be. Rhianna was pretty annoying though.

it just so happens that as i was looking at battleship on the imdb website this morning it came to my attention that rhianna was in this movie. i see her photo with captions on aol and know she's a singer- but that's about all- i've never heard her sing- and i'm so glad that i didn't have any preconceived notions before seeing this film- i thought she was great!!!
shareI don't know anything about her "music" (and don't care to). But she is a horrible actress and just the sound of her voice is enough to annoy you.
I knew this movie was going to be bad anyway (it's based on a freaking board game), but casting Rhianna was the worst part of the production.
Rihanna ruined this movie for me, I'm so sick of studios putting no talent bimbos into movies, she should just stick to making her trashy pop songs and leave the acting to the professionals.
She was put in this movie for no other reason than to appeal to teenagers, the second a movie casts some flavor of the month celebrity in a movie, it loses credibility and respect.
I can just imagine the train of thought behind the casting of this movie, let's get Brooklyn 'big b00bs' Decker, Rihanna, Taylor Kitsch, none of whom can actually act, throw in a cameo by Liam Neeson and set it in Hawaii, that should cover all the richest demographics.
Talk about catering to the lowest common denominator, which is a shame because this movie actually had a lot of potential to be great but they squandered it by pandering and ingratiating themselves to the easiest money, ironically, this is also what prevented Battleship from making the big bucks.
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.
And its not like she even need to money for this move role, it could of gone to a struggling actress that needed the money and work, not someone who is worth 50million.
