Why?
Why is this being made? Who’s their fan base?
share"Beavis and Butthead" fans. Just a guess.
shareWhy ask why? If you aren't interested then don't watch it.
shareMe
shareANYONE WHO WAS ALIVE AND COOL IN THE 90S.
shareIt is known.
shareI'm surprised a woke LGBTP supporter like you would like Beavis and Butt-head. I can guarantee you that you were never cool especially in the 90's if you turned out to be a leftwing nutjob today.
shareBeavis and Butthead constantly made fun of fat redneck conseveratives. Did you even watch the show?
shareI am not a conservative. I am MAGA. Also, the show made fun of liberals as well. Remember the hippy teacher? Did you even watch the show?
shareConservative and MAGA are the same thing. Unless "make America great again" means giving minorities, women, and LGBT+ their freedoms, which you've stated you're against.
shareWhat freedoms do women, non-Whites and degenerates not have? The only groups who are regularly demonized and discriminated against are Whites and Christians and everyone but Straight White Christian males are basically a protected class.
It's no wonder that more and more White people especially White men are becoming more rightwing. I wonder what could be driving that... 🤔
They do have freedoms, you just have an issue with that and would prefer if they didn't. The fact that they do has inspired you to make an entire account for you to venture your frustrations. Very simple.
share"Conservative and MAGA are the same thing"
When did the left get so anti-intellectual?
"giving minorities, women, and LGBT+ their freedoms"
This isn't 1850. I'm a straight white male and I don't have any freedoms that minorities, women, and alphabet people don't also have. It's a phony issue.
"I don't have cancer. I have AIDS"
shareI AM NOT LEFTWING...I AM REGISTERED REPUBLICAN...ACCEPTANCE AND TOLERANCE ARE NOT POLITICAL STRATEGIES.
shareTolerance and apathy are the last virtues of a dying society and the Republicans are the neocon cucks who let it happen. What is it they say about neocon cucks... oh yeah, I remember.
"Conservatism is just progressivism driving the speed limit."
and
"Conservatives usually fail to actually conserve anything."
You may as well just call yourselves democrats at this point. If you're not a Chad Ultra MAGA Tradcon then you're not American. Diversity and degeneracy is killing America and if you're not extreme far rightwing like me then you're part of the problem.
P.S.
Trump Won and the democrats cheated! Fuck gay rights! Fuck feminism! Fuck multiculturalism! Fuck immigration! Fuck islam! Fuck anything that isn't MAGA! MAGA = Traditional Straight White Christian Nationalism!
Even though I'm a boomer & not a Millenial or GenXer........I fucking LOVE B&B!!! Plus they had the most spot-on commentary on music videos!!!
shareAdolescent boys and those who never outgrew it. Lol.
It's a cute cartoon though.
I use to teach in a music store in the mid 1990s, and you wouldn't believe how many grown men (who were regular customers) came into the store and talked exactly like Beavis and Butt-head. They (and I am being dead serious) never spoke in their normal voices. Those are the types whom I suspect never outgrew this, and will love it.
shareYeah, it's akin to grown men and women in LA, where I live, who still speak like valley girls. Oh my gosh!
shareTo lure customers for streaming services. Thanks for asking.
shareI think that the original poster is questioning how much of a fan base that Beavis and Butt-Head have left after all of this time. When I saw that this was trending on Movie Chat I actually thought the same thing. 25 years after the initial movie, and 33 years after the show first aired do these guys still have a large fan base, and is that fan base willing to spend $20.00 to go and see a film with them in it? It just seems like this sequel to the original movie is about 20 years too late. Also, the 90s attitude that shows like Beavis and Butt-Head, the Simpsons (which has sucked for decades) and Married with Children (started in the 80s, but it's ratings peaked in the 90s, has been off the air for decades) is non-existent in the 2020s. Personally, I don't see this making much of a ripple in modern moviedom, but maybe I'm wrong.
shareI think it's a streamer, and I guess it has the same appeal as the latest Bill and Ted, by putting them in the current culture via Black Hole. And I'm sure they're hoping the old catalogue gets some play on Paramount+.
shareThat makes sense. It'll probably have some appeal via streaming. I suspect (and I could be wrong) that it most likely wouldn't do to well if it were to be released into theaters.
shareEven back then, at its peak, there was skepticism about how well a theatrical feature would do. I remember Mike Judge saying that the studio tried to convince him to do a live action version instead, like a Dumb and Dumber, or a Bill and Ted. Thank goodness it didn't go down that way. I cringe thinking about comic actors (likely older than teens), with those haircuts, trying to imitate the voices and the vibe.
shareI'll watch it. Loved the last movie they did. And the old show.
