I always shove a bottle of water (sometimes a sweet tea, too), a box of dark chocolate Raisinets, and Twizzlers back when I could eat them into my purse (something to drink, something chocolate, and something sweet.) I haven't been to the movies since I was diagnosed celiac, so I'll have to find some new snacks, but I can't bear to drop $15 on a small popcorn and soda that tastes like battery acid. Now if they had milkshakes at the movie theater...

I'm a firm believer in the philosophy of a ruling class, especially since I rule.

That is your right.

My view is that I am not paying them for water, and I do not drink soda.

If they had healthier food choices I would consider buying them but most theaters serve junk, at usurious prices to boot.

I tend to bring either raw almonds or sugar free hard candy (that I have unwrapped beforehand so I don't make a racket unwrapping candy). I have yet to be in a theater that had either item.

I often buy from the concession stand, but in the past I've also brought some stuff in like boxed or bag candy, small bottle of water, stuff like that. I had a friend who would actually microwave popcorn and then bring that inside her gigantic purse, yikes! I like to get the popcorn at the theatre though, seems to taste better.

I've never actually brought in any kind of meal stuff - burgers or whatever. If I did though, I'd like some sushi/cali rolls and a good cappucino or latte.

Sneaking in food to a movie theater is fine. But you should probably kill yourself if you just leave your trash for those poor 16 year old kids to clean up after you. Especially if the movie theater is trashed from all the other people in the audience. The last thing those kids need to do is clean up after some one who didn't even attribute to their own paycheck as we all know concessions is where the theaters themselves make their money.

It is just embarassing to see the litter left behind during a single movie viewing! They should video the people making the messes and run it during the promos.

I remember whenever I went to the theater with my mom she would always bring candy from home. I don't do that when I go by myself.

I've worked in 3 concession stands. I work at one now. I personally don't care what you bring in just as long as the person tearing your ticket can't see it or smell it and you clean up after yourself and throw it all out. Like the way people are supposed to make sure no trace of themselves are left behind after camping in the woods, "we don't want to know what you did." :p

I recently bought in some Five Guys French Fries.

That's nothing, one time my sister and I snuck in a bucket of KFC chicken in her large purse, but what we didn't think about was that fried chicken can be messy and we didn't have many napkins. Never doing that again!

Alamo Draft-house in Austin serves quality restaurant meals a an affordable price so no problem there. But in Australia if I am hungry I will bring in a burger and wedges.
