This movie is funny. The reason why people hate it...

Its because most of the people on this website don't understand good comedy writing. They think that The Hangover is God's special gift to comedy. This movie is like a early 90's late 80's throw back up there with The Great Outdoors.

I know I'll get trolled and flamed for this but I don't care I know comedy when I see it. This movie makes me laugh from the witty comments to the slapstick humor.

My dad likes this kinda humour...and I probably would laugh when he laughs, some of the slapstick/toilet humour is so stupid u have to laugh!

What I find really funny though is that a POS like this can still rake in heaps of money at the cinema, there is a market for it, and there always will be.

This movie is as funny as "Daddy Day Care", which means not funny.

At least the Hangover was something new and fresh. Grown ups we have seen it all before i chuckled once throughout the movie. It was like each joke was so forced the first time, then when they try and do it again. its just lazy writing. 1/10

My sentiments exactly! You are correct!!

OP. Please send me a link to the script of this movie. I will study it and attempt to suss out the witty jokes and learn great comedy writing.

I do not believe a script to this movie exists, honestly.

This movie was pure crap. It always pisses me off for people to say nobody understands good comedy. Trust me, I have a great sense of humor but this film doesn't have it.

OP, please give us a synopsis of the plot. No? That's because there is none. It is random events of friends hanging out together that only they get the inside jokes.
Don't tell me the plot is getting the basketball game together at the end because that is not the plot.

To add insult to injury, they're making a sequel. I promise I will not be wasting time or money watching it.

I couldn't agree more, people laugh at this likes it's the funniest movie ever. I look at them thinking 'man am i a negative person?' no its just a know a funny movie when i see one.

I think the only reason anyonje wanted to see this movie is the cast. I mean you got 4 or 5 big alpha dogs of comedy, that have had there fair share of laughable movies. However, due to the absolute hatred i now have for some of the actors, i just couldn't believe the studio though it was a good idea to put out a seqquel

Sandler is well known for having his buddies in his films but it seems like he made this movie just to have his friends in it.

I know this has nothing to do with anything, but...

"However, due to the absolute hatred i now have for some of the actors, i just couldn't believe the studio though it was a good idea to put out a seqquel"

Technically means that: 'Because I now hate some of the actors in this movie, I could not believe that the studio did not respect my newfound feelings and thought it was a good idea to put together all of the people I hate into another movie.'

Just being a troll.. but really, this movie sucked.

Nothing funnier than making an idiotic statement like "people on this website don't understand good comedy writing" when defending a "comedy" where no comedy writing was involved. Sandler and friends had the audacity of hoping a funny movie would result from several funny actors just showing up to produce a movie. There is no alternative way of spelling C-R-A-P.

I like all these guys in their own movies. They act too stupid when they're all together. And the supporting cast can't act either. Lousy sh!tty movie and I won't be watching the sequel.

And yes I know comedy.... loved Animal House, Blues Brothers, History of the World, Billy Madison, Austin Powers (the first 2, the 3rd was LAME), Natl Lampoons Vacation, Blind Date, Multiplicity, American Pie, etc etc but this one is so stupid, the writing sucks, the acting is wooden like they did one take on everything good or bad that's a wrap! They over act, over ham it up which is obvious and not funny!

I'd rather hear these guys talk in real life then have them say everything that's edited for pg movie ratings. Yes and jumping in the water naked with freeze frame in the sequel previews is lame and amateurishly stupid!

Doubtful. I wasn't a huge fan of The Hangover, but it was at least more tolerable than this film. The thing I found most difficult to watch about Grown Ups was its run time - this movie just dragged on, and it's only a hundred minutes long! I found it very boring, but some funny parts scattered in between. However, I wouldn't call it horrible or God-awful by any chance.
