Dredd 2 finally hapening? with Stallone?!

It'd be awesome if Stallone cameo'd (or even was in it properly as a villain or something) or imagine if after all the bitchin and whining about wanting Dredd2 they make it a sequel to Stallones Dredd LOL

I imagine the pandemic has studios looking for movie sequel stuff that can be tuned into streaming, so D2 fits with that as they were already looking at doing it like that before c19 (wouldn't surprise me if likes of Alien, Predator, Terminator, Blade Runner will eventually do this too)

To this day in 2021, there's no talk, there's no interest outside of Rebellion to make a Dredd movie or TV series or any wheels turning at all.

I think the political environment would prevent any investments in Judge Dredd but a prolonged crime wave might revive interest. A lot of people will be offended by judges who execute criminals.

That's probably the real reason why there hasn't been anything.
Dredd already dialed things quite a bit when you compare it to the original script.
They were planning to explore Dredd being a fascist in the sequel so they probably would have ramped things up. Now, there's no way they're gonna do something like that unfortunately.

Both of the films featured crooked judges so I fear they can only make another movie with crooked judges. They'd probably have a white supremacist group of villains like the KKK or Nazis.

Whatever one thinks of Stallone’s Dredd he definitely looked the part (pre helmet removal).

Urban had the more faithful adaptation and he acts it well enough but the guy looks too young and doesn’t have a quarter of the testosterone and gravitas of Stallone.

Whether Urban’s jaw is too weak or his helmet was too big… the helmet looks too big on Urban. Stallone’s big mutant jaw and mouth bulged out from the helmet as it should. Again, a perfect look.

Ten years on from Dredd it would be interesting to see if Urban looks any better all judged-up. So many franchises turning into woke shit and this one actually does a good job of portraying its white male protagonist… and gets immediately cancelled.

He has been shown a lot of love in comic book movies the last few years, I would LOVE to see a sequel to this with him as the villain or Dredd's mentor.

The Stallone movie has left a bad taste in people's mouths to the point where there's no interest from Hollywood in doing a Dredd movie.
