Horrible Music that ruined a beautiful Movie

There is no excuse for the producers and directors not to have seen how stupid it was to link the movie of the 1920's with the music they chose. It is what has kept me from purchasing the movie.

If they slipped one or two songs I think it would've been thematically fitting. It would be what the people at those parties would listen to today.

But it was so distracting to have hip-hop/pop blaring every five seconds when it had absolutely no place

Say what you will about Django Unchained, but in my opinion, 100 black coffins was suitable for a film where hip-hop/rap was anachronistic. The Great Gatsby didn't even try.

Thank you and all of the other viewers who felt the same as I did. I was actually excited to watch the film based on the trailers from other vids only to turn it off and return it after only 25 minutes. How could IMDB even offer Titanic on the same page as an offering to such an offensive depiction of the 20's via our use of current rap...crap!

Wow is all I can say...this movie was a huge disappointment to me, my freinds and family who all gathered to view what was supposed to be such a cinematic find of color, sound and talent. Talent and color yes, sound not even in my wildest nightmares.

After several tries I finally turned off the sound and watched it with the subtitles on. It wasn't bad.

What we got here is... failure to communicate!

This! They wasted a great opportunity to bestow the movie with the right atmosphere! I wanted to feel the soul of 20s and instead we ended up with a huge mess! What a pity!

agreed. Rap music just took me out of it. No place in a 1920's set flick. Awful decisions in this movie.

I found it rather refreshing and enjoyable.

Watching it for the 1st time on AMC and the music ruins it. I generally hate most rap that is on the radio these days anyway, I love 90`s-early 00`s rap but it`s just so bad now. It should not be in a period piece. Why not just have Lamborghini`s and Ferrari, Flatscreens, Nike, Jordan and cellphones too?

And screaming racism is dumb, not even all black people like Rap, and Lana Del Ray is white and her song was just as out of place as the rap and the synth-keyboard when he gets shot.... Libs always scream racism, yet they`re the biggest bigots.

For anyone disappointed with the music in the movie, turn the volume down and replace it with this:

It is exactly what the director tried to capture by fusing old with modern, except fans do it a lot better.

Seriously, Baz missed his chance with electro-swing and instead stuck with straight-up hip-hop. ugh.

I had the same reaction during Inglorious Basterds, the movie is going along great, and then Putting Out Fire turns up on the soundtrack. It's one thing for the song to be on the movie Cat People, but, not on a WW2 movie.
