Comedy ? What the **** is wrong with you people ?

i think, perhaps, we need to look at the etymology of comedy to answer your question. This actually quite falls in line with Aristotle's definition of a comedy which "ran parallel to that of tragedy, and described the art as a purification of certain affections of our nature, not by terror and pity, but by laughter and ridicule".

I didn't laugh, and when I had a very mild chuckle, it was just at realistic moments, not obvious comedy.

I'll confess that I haven't seen this movie yet. I was just looking through the page for it when I found this. But I will see it eventually; it looks great. And even if I do hate it, I'll just give it a low rating and go away. I really won't care at all that you guys disagree with me. Because it's all opinion.

Well, I found "Synecdoche, New York" under Comedy in my video store...

If it's a comedy, it's a pretty poor one. If it's a drama, then I actually quite enjoyed it... :)

i was quite surprised to see it categorised as a comedy as well. the way the music is set at the beginning in traffic reminded of a similar thing in blues brothers, but they were in a car. notice the old tv set with the big back, i still got one of those myself, i still haven't changed to a flatscreen or what its called, those thin tvs. in the same scene notice the cd and dvd collection. avoid the trailer to this, it spoils alot. i haven't been so captivated by a movie in a long time, i could have just kept watching the story of this guy.
