How can they top Lord Shen?
If there going to make 4 more films. I mean...who can be more ruthless and evil then Lord Shen. He is considered better then Tai Lung. Who can be more cool and evil then Lord Shen?

Great thought...I think the question could be boiled down to; how can they top an intellectual villain?
My guess, if they have the balls, is to make Po's father the next villain, who wants some sort of revenge after the panda genocide and make pandas the dominant species in the world...thus making Po torn between both sides...
If that does happen I pray for an epic fight between Shifu and Po's dad, and our Dragon Warrior watches on not knowing whom to help...
that would be an awesome story.
kudos to that idea.
That sounds like Germany xP
The pandas looked too peaceful to start a world war...
Like strawberries and cream
It's the only way to be =P
Agreed, lol. Po's dad seemed like a nice guy; I can't imagine him doing something that bad.
shareI think the best choice would be a Komodo Dragon.
Not only would it being a "Dragon" fit in so well with the China setting, but they are in real life very dangerous creatures. They spit poison, have claws, theyre fast and powerful.
If anything can be an intimidating villain it would be a Komodo Dragon, a Snow Leopard in comparison is a kitten.
Totally agree. I can just imagine a grey, six foot tall, yellow eyed lizard drooling venomous saliva right behind Shifu in the darkness.
Komodo Dragons FTW
Although I wonder if there are any water animals. Like an evil octopus or great white shark.
So many Asian animals to choose from.
I dont know how they would go about doing water animals, itd be kind of weird for them to have a Great White Shark as a fighter as they dont have any arms or legs and cant breathe on land.
I know they take liberties with the designs but that may be pushing it.
When you put it that way, it is sort of pushing it. But that's only on land. Imagine Po fighting them on a boat or in the water (doubt he can swim very well). And when it comes to land, there's stuff like sea snakes, saltwater crocodiles, crabs, seals, and dolphins.
I'm not supporting that the next villain should be a water villain, I'm just curious what's down there in the KFPverse.
well, if an Albino Peacock can be Badass.. than they should have mutated Radish for the next villian .. (hey it looked cool in Po's dream :)..
o.k that's more monsters vs aliens terrritory .. but I like the radish..:)
Komodo Dragons do not spit poison they do have a poisonous bite but the Bacteria in thier bite is thier most dangerous weapon. This is animation, why settle for a Komodo dragon when you can have a REAL Dragon?
Oh GOOD!,my dog found the chainsaw
Well if they are doing the whole history of china thing then either some mongol warlord or a european animal (although I am 99% sure that if a european was included then it would be a crude British stereotype)
I would rather be riding
Or it could be The Greek Army. I mean if this is Ancient China its possible that this is either during The Classic or Crusade Age.
shareThe Greek Army took over India, not China.
I can imagine them making a female villain. But I hope she is not overbearing or they do a 'Catwoman' with her - she starts off as bad and later on redeems herself. It would then seem the female villains are all softies at heart while males stick to their convictions.
I mean what if they did one, where the Greeks did conquer India and then invaded China, with different villains.
shareI actually think Tai Lung was better, but thats just because he was like a kung-fu master, as Shen was just a genious who knew some moves, but was still a great villain.
shareA foreign fighter, maybe a Lion from America.
I had this idea for a villain that poisons Po and makes him have to face his deepest fears. It would be then turn out to be a training exercise by a very old and wise goat.
A turtle, but this time evil and not Oogway. The shell itself would add some varied fight scene choreography.
Komodo Dragon pirates.
maybe a Lion from AmericaAlex? share
Tai Long was far better villain than Shen..
shareI think the very best idea (or not) might be that Po himself turns evil. You know, like becomes a master of Kung Fu and it kinda gets to his head. I imagined that from the end of KP2 where master Shifu says, "It seems you've found inner peace, at such a young age". Get it, at such a young age. He's like a kungfu prodigy in the making. So maybe HE turns evil with pride or pain, maybe he falls in love with the tigress but she doesn't love him back cause she's all hard core, then he loses it, causes chaos everywhere, but then eventually learns the error of his ways, and becomes humble again, making the master the student all over again, killing his sense of self/pride thus becoming invincible, the GREATEST KUNGFU MASTER OF ALL TIME!!! HAHAHAHA!!! Sorry, kinda got carried away with evil laughter there for a sec. But you get the gist. Sorta like what happened to Jason Statham's character in Revolver but in a less complicated way of course, it's still a kid movie.
Now that we know who you are, I know who I am. - Mr Glass (from one of the best films ever made!)
Better than Tai Lung?
Surely you jape?
Tai Lung was one of the best bad guys the last five years ALL categories. His escape from the prison would be badass even by live movie standards for grown ups. His build up was awesome(truly). A seemingly completely unstoppable force. Not to mention that Al freaking Swearengen voiced him.
Lord Shen was cool and very well played by Oldman. But come on, he's a friggin peacock. And there were plenty of moments when he was the comic relief(unlike Tai Lung who was always menacing until the end). I think they managed to make a good villain of Shen despite this. But Tai Lung was just in a league of his own.
"Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down. Makes her home."
shen was a more well rounded villian than tai lung who was your typical bad for no reason idiot. Shen went through stuff that made him a deep character..and brought more to a story. You kids needs to grow up.
..and also this is my signature.
Yea, a villian which isn't even powerful enough to fight with his own fists but rather use a devide to try to beat his enemies is a better villain than Tai Lung.
And Lung was more menacing and his story was better crafted and more emotional than Shen's.
You and those who say Shen is a better villan should need to watch more film and pay more attention while watching.
First, brute strength does not make a villain better. When used well it can HELP, but on its own merit does not ensure anything. Tai Lungs story was there, but it was shallow, and really not all that deep, there were hints of back story, and a hint of tragedy, but nothing close to Lord Shen, whom in desperation wished to avoid his own downfall, and took extreme measures that backfired horrible, leaving him forcibly banished from his home, rejected by his parents, and removed from everything he knew, never truly seeming to grasp the effects of his choices, constantly fearing the future, while focusing on the past.
shareA villian who got banished, rejected by his parents and now seeks power due to hatred is one of the most used cliches in films. But a villian who seeks ultimate power with no apparent reason is a lot more pure and interesting plus they get again a lot more menaching when they use their own fighting skills rather than use a device which makes tai lung an overall better villian.
shareNot really, it just makes him even more cliche.
shareAfter 28 days that's the best you could come up with, lol. :p
You should watch more film -i mean, a lot more- to get what i mean.
I have been busy with work and life, which I place a lot more importance on than IMDB, so really, mentioning how long it has been since my last post really does not mean anything. As for your assertion, I have watched film, a LOT of film, and also spent several years working in the industry. So no, I really don't think I need to watch a lot more, though I do think you need to get over yourself if that is the stance you are going to take. Shallow, meaningless villains who are bad just for the sake of being bad, or greedy, are about as cliche as you can get. Sometimes they can be used for fun, but generally speaking, they aren't that interesting or meaningful. You do everything you can to make Lord Shen sound boring and cliche, but fail to accurately reflect the way they handle his character, which was somewhat more sympathetic and interesting in certain regards than similar characters that have been introduced in the past. No, it is not entirely original, and if you can be bothered to look around, you might find an older post from me that points out that Kung Fu Panda 2 takes its story from both Conan and Riddick, though it is still an enjoyable film in its own right.
shareI don't say lung is original, both villians are far from original but shen's character is definitely used a lot more in film history and more cliche therefore + to make shen more likable, sympathetic and less frightening -especially for children- the character has been added a funny and clumsy side which makes him far from looking menaching unlike lung who had nothing but pure power.
Shen is obviously more likable, i mean that's was the intention of the writers, so i understand why you like him more but don't let this blind you making objective decisions.
There are many options.
How about an actual Chinese Dragon? "An ancient beast...the creator of Kung fu....dormant for thousands of years...." kind of thing.
A Mongol Horde seems obvious from a historical view, the Mongols are the only ones to ever conquer China. As for their animal....I have no idea.
How about a stealth, ninja based enemy?
I would have thought that it was obvious. If there were to be Mongols then they would be horses. Actually, seeing as mongolian horses are small (they are technically ponies) it could leave room for several size jokes.
I would rather be riding
It is said that the best warrior among the Furious five, usually turns evil. With Po-Tigress relationship all intriguing and stuff, I guess it should be Tigress doing the next villain.
And, wiki says (Legends of Awesomeness page), that every province has a Master and Every master has a furious five. And, in the Kung Fu Panda holiday, we observe 22 masters from all of China gathering for a feast. Whatever it is, I guess the canvas is growing bigger and bigger.

Female villain, please! You know what would be awesome? Expanding on Tigress's story about her being orphaned and have her mother or something being *beep* insane. That would put a new spin on the theme of parenthood in the series.
You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.
