Deadpool made more than ALL X-men movies at the box office despite the R rating, no release in China, no 3D, small budget for marketing, a character that is not as popular as ex. batman, Superman, Cap, Spiderman...
Ghostbusters 2016 is a failure and an insult to all the fans.
Deadpool was juvenile, crass... not a good film, did not show great film making. It did not show great story telling.. the story was brain dead, the dialogue was obscene... and the characters were demented and unrealistic, unrelateable. It was a gore fest for those who wanted to be simple... simple minded, and watch some soft porno, and listen to trailer trash dialogue...
The movie was crap... over rated crap appealing to the lowest common denominator with the emotional, intellectual maturity of a 15 year old who would go and relentlessly hate a ghost busters trailer and attack the actresses involved personally to the point where they had to go public about the amount of hate mail they received...
REAL ghosbusters fans would not see this disgrace of a cash grab. it's a mockery to call this GARBAGE ghostbusters. propaganda to satisfy the pure cancer called swjs and feminazis
it is offensive of how TRASH they are treating the name ghostbusters with it's BAD LOUD SLAPSTICK 'Humor", PISS POOR cgi and many more problems. they are making this seem like a snl skit. they made leslie jones character the stereotypical black woman. like who thinks that is ok or funny? i know the greedy dumbass idiots of hollywood who can't come up with something original so they have to ruin a movie name with a reboot/remake.
Not sure what that has to do with what I said. And btw, Winston, the black, guy, was the religious one. That's stereotypical too. Stereotypical isn't always some evil thing. It's just shorthand. And the original had some slapstick moments, and the reboot doesn't have as many as people assumed. Chill.

Err... no it's not. Winston was the most grounded character out of all the Ghostbuters. Saying that he's stereotypical because he's religious is dumb, because every race has people that are religious. Also Winston lived in a world where ghosts and god-like creatures exist, so denying God but accepting the supernatural is a contradiction. Winston seems to be the only character with actual common sense in these movies. That's not stereotypical at all.

The original had bad loud slapstick humor also. It didn't have bad CGI because there wasn't really any CGI to speak of, but it did have some bad puppetry and rotoscoping. Ernie Hudson was as much of a stereotypical black man as Jones is the black woman.
Oh, and there haven't been too many original ideas in Hollywood for decades. It didn't just start yesterday. Do you know how many Invasions of the Body Snatchers there have been? Or Islands of Dr. Moreau? Or Alices in Wonderland? Or Tarzans? Or variations of anything Shakespeare wrote? There are no original ideas. There are universal stories that are retold in different ways over and over again. Why? Because universality=success.
Don't try and hide your hate behind poor reasons, when it's clear exactly why you're so upset.

How many of the people that went to see it in cinema's do you think actually read the comics though? It's not that popular of a character. It clearly appealed to people that don't know about the character cause of how good it looked, and is. People would've just went to see it cause that was the super popular movie at the time. The heroes of that movie were the writers, and the marketing department.
Deadpool was pretty popular even before the movie. Well, popular in the sense that Deadpool is more popular than Iron Man and The Avengers were before any of those characters even got a movie. Even years before the film Deadpool was even greenlit, a lot of people in my neighborhood worn Deadpool T-shirts more than any other superhero, and my nephew even saw a bunch of Deadpool merchandising at Universal Studios in Orlando. Not to mention, you had viral videos like these that helped with Deadpool's popularity... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzhJixCzOc4

When Deadpool was rumored to be PG13, the fans were pissed though and wanted to boycott. Then they confirmed the R and the fans did a 180°, so did i.
