How do adults watch this?

It’s on streaming. I made it to about the 30 minute mark. The visuals, dialogue, costumes, plot, singing … all seem to be designed for children.

Unless you’re an adult who is watching with a child , how do you actually watch this one and enjoy it

reply

most females stop maturing mentally at like age 16 (probably a good reason they shouldn't be allowed to vote). they watch this crap and drag their beta-male mangina hubbies with them to the theater too.

In general, men and women cannot reach full maturity until their brains are fully developed at around age 25. However, some studies have shown that men do not fully mature until age 43… and that women reach maturity at age 32!

I'm not talking about the maturity of their physical brains. I'm taking about their actual mental maturity as in their ability to think and act like an adult. I'm saying that both emotionally and rationally, the majority of women act like they are still 16 years old. This is why so many people say that women are ruled by their emotions. Most women are like children in that respect. The large majority of them are also ruled by superficial beauty slathering themselves with excessive cancer causing tanning lotions, makeup, and moisturizers (main ingredient is usually male foreskin), and then wonder why they get breast cancers. Starting to get the picture yet?

reply

You had me until "male foreskin", which is where you went off the deep end into lunacy.

reply

wakey wakey! guess you can't google things yourself, so here ya go:

Some moisturizers and other skincare products contain cells from a baby's foreskin:
SkinMedica
The cream that Oprah Winfrey touted contains "human fibroblast conditioned media", which are stem cells grown from a single baby foreskin.
Other products
Other skincare products that contain foreskin-derived ingredients include DHC EGF Cream, Mizon Bee Venom Calming Fresh Cream, DNARenewal Regeneration Serum, and Bioeffect EGF Serum.

reply

So, are you saying that I can rub my foreskin over women’s faces and if they protest I can just say that it’s for their own good because it’ll make their skin look healthier?

reply

This always worked for me. And they are into it.

reply

Right then *rubs hands with glee*

The ‘Baby Foreskin Facial’ Is a Real Thing
And it's offered at a plethora of spas in and around Boston.

Your 'source' is almost ten years old. That silly trend is long expired by women who use high end products that work. I am one. Oprah is a snake oil seller who has been exposed for flexible ethics. She'll tout anything if enough money changes hands.

reply

Ok, then by your logic, I guess since Jeffery Epstein stopped having those sex parties on his island over 10 years ago we should just forget it ever happened. No, it's weird that women were doing that at all especially when you find out about how hospitals are selling the foreskin to the moisturizer industry and how much that part of the male anatomy actually is required for the male. Supporting genital mutilation at any point in your life is not ethical and if you ever participated in wiping that on your skin for youth you are one sick puppy!

I use Shiseido, a Japanese beauty company founded in 1872. Their formulas are tried and true and have changed little during their 150 years of success.

My family has used this generationally: Shiseido Future Solution LX Legendary Enmei Ultimate Renewing Cream. Get some for your wife/girlfriend. She will thank you lavishly.

Fair enough, I respect you for keeping your cool. Happy New Year!

He did not read my link ... nor any science study ever ... or know any high caliber women.

Edit: In the words of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog: "Have you ever even talked to a girl without first having to give your credit card?"

I know high caliber women. Notice my comment says "most" women. High caliber women are few and far in between. And even the high caliber ones are still wiping male foreskins all over themselves daily. That is really weird.

reply

Sounds like somebody needs a hug. ;D

reply

Can confirm. Women my age, near 40, still listen and sing to Disney music in public, e.g. in their cars, camping and in their houses. It is essentially a religion.

Similar to men and their sports ball gods. Often to a higher degree than women, because they build shrines and dress the part.

Corporations do a good job indoctrinating them young. They are much better at it than the church.

reply

I’m an adult male and I enjoyed this and the stage musical.

I also still enjoy the Wizard of Oz which this is patterned after.

Also, you paid $20 to rent something you must have known you wouldn’t like going in?

reply

If you're handy with Firestick apps, you can watch this for free. I got 15 minutes into the movie and turned it off.

My wife wants to see it so I'll watch it with her at some point.

reply

It's the same audience who made Barbie a massive hit.

reply

I disagree.

A movie doesn’t make over a billion if only a limited type of person goes to see it.

reply

Men were dragged in by their wives, girlfriends, and daughters

reply

You talked to all those men?

reply

He called me. I thought he was full of shit but he seemed sincere.

reply

I stand corrected.

reply

How did The Jungle Book become one of the most successful movies of its time?
It's even more childish, talking animals of species that would be mortal enemies in nature becoming "friends" and it doesn't even have real actors playing in it.
It's just the ability to imagine a fantasy world that you know cannot be real and let yourself sink into it for an hour or two.

reply

Why can't people like what they like?

reply

And if I like to comment on what people like, then your question would apply. Come up something less lazy than “let people like what they want”

reply

Nah, I only put the effort in when warranted.

reply

You don't like musicals. Why did you watch it?

reply

It’s not Emilia Perez. And it sure isn’t Moulin Rouge.

reply

“How do you actually watch this one and enjoy it?” You don’t.
I don’t think it’s a great movie or a great musical. Awards will tell. Wicked’s director was snubbed. RE Golden Globes. Emilia Perez or Anora will take most of them from Wicked and deservedly so. Wicked might win Cinematic and Box Office Achievement Golden Globe and deservedly so.

As bad as this movie was for me, Gladiator 2 was as well. Actually, Maria was a poor presentation of the magnificent Callas too. Comparisons will probably be made between Wicked and Barbie. Whereas, Barbie was well conceived and well written and a very good movie, I don’t think Wicked is. People will confuse the smartness of the two.

reply

It was a very well-made movie, one that was crafted for broad audiences. It's pretty obviously not 'designed for children', it's a musical fantasy for all ages.

I enjoyed it because it had a compelling story, really solid acting with very well-developed and interesting characters, and pretty good music.

If a movie doesn't appeal to you, don't watch it. You don't have to pretend it's bad or infantile. You're the fringe minority of people who've watched it -- and that's ok. You don't have to build yourself up by knocking down the hordes of people who've found joy in something you happen to not like.
