The ending completely ruined the movie for me

Seriously. It should of just ended when the girl and the cop were sitting on the road, and the police come to get them. I just hated how that guy said "never trust a con" at the end, and then then he gets killed. I was hoping for all 3 of them to live

oh well

Ditto, finally some(very nice)tits in this series, funny lines and nice horror and gore...but the end!!!, I'll never see it again or recommend it to my friends.

The ending was absolutely ridiculous. This is what happens when you have retards trying to come up with a "surprising twist".

Why the hell would Brandon put his ass on the line to go back and help the cop and Alex, only to kill the cop at the end. Hell, after all they had been through together, he could have just walked up to him and said "hey, give me a bundle of that cash, will ya?"

reply

I know right? The only thing that would possibly make up for this is if that part of the ending, if there is indeed a sequel, turns out to be a dream.

I'm just really glad that in the end, it was the inbred hillbillies who ended up with the money. They seem like deep down they are really nice folks, living out in the woods in nature, minding their own business, who just got driven crazy by the constant stream of annoying cops, teenagers, hikers, convicts, etc. who are constantly invading their territory, killing them, and bothering them. Hopefully they'll get to use the money for some improvements to their rustic cabin, maybe go on a little vacation somewhere nice for a change of scenery ( like Camp Crystal Lake ).

i didnt mind the ending. the cop mentioned the money a couple times, so i was pretty sure he wanted it. and i didnt trust the con from the beginning. they didnt show him enough to make him seem genuinely good. he helped out once in a while, but he was only trying to get on the cops good side to look innocent.

One of the worst endings i've ever seen. Honestly, I thought the movie was alright up until that point. I liked the character developement between the con and the cop but they threw that out the window for an incredibly stupid ending.

I mean what the hell were they thinking when they decided to write that in? Did they really honestly think that was a good idea in their head? jesus. I just pretend that final minute of film never happened because honestly without that ending the movie is for me a 6-7 but that ending seriously dragged it down to a 1.

It just shows how terrible film makers can be these days to actually ruin their own work so easily to try and be smartasses.

reply

consider it an extra scene from the DVD, not canon. The ending is just too out of character to be real.

Same Hot-Rod.

I turn the film off before that last scene. It makes absolutely no sense, so I just pretend its not real.

reply

Agreed. While it didn't ruin the entire movie for me, it felt tacked-on for the sake of there being a "twist" where one wasn't needed.

i totally agree. i just finished watching this on Syfy seeing as how it was the only thing on...the ending sucked and did feel tacked-on just to give it a twist.

however i will say this...honestly if you found a armored vehicle in the middle of the woods with a **** ton of cash in it, wouldn't you be tempted to go back for it? or at least turn it in and claim a small reward. but yes the ending wasn't very thought out and did suck with the "epilogue". Besides didn't they kill all three of the Hillbillies throughout parts 1 and 2 and the last one obviously at the end of the this one? where the heck did this one come from that kills the con?

reply

is the hillbilly at the end even in the 4th film? or have they forgotten about him completely?

I just thought it was very random how it happened all at once, basically it was the money/greed that ended up killing most of them but i did think those two were different near the end.....shame!

reply

I already hated the movie and the ending just sunk it even lower IMO. I was ready to give it a 4 at least by the end, but then the ending came along and I ended up giving it a 3 though even that's too generous.

reply

Agreed. The add-on ending made the movie worse.

reply

I agree. Terrible ending. I just assumed it was a dream of some sort and expected the main guy to wake up at any moment.

reply

Yeah, that tacked on final part was rather dumb, I agree (should have just ended with all three surviving).

It certainly felt tacked on, but I'm still laughing so hard I'm puking blood from this topic. It's not like it was some timeless masterpiece that was ruined.

I actually loved the ending a little for daring to say F.U. to our expectations about "honourable bad-guys" and "good taste". Had it been another movie I can agree this may have felt awkward, yes, but these are hillbilly-splatter/comedies about unfortunate people constantly disemboweled by barbed wire and eaten by cannibal inbreeds. Bring it on, I say. This also started the trend with downer-endings for later instalments in the series - always ending it on a horrible note for the protagonists.
