intense religious themes at end ruin this decent comedy

i was misled thinking this was going to be a campy "make fun of armageddon movie" but instead it actually IS an armageddon movie after mostly as a comedian buddy movie. the last 1/3 of the movie turns into a fanatical christian tale of who gets to heaven. there is no joke about it, it's treated real and it doesn't fit the movie at all. the sacrifice instant access to heaven *beep* it just makes a turn into blatant propaganda for the church after a halfway decent flick that i got some chuckles from. its good to see other threads also mentioning how this is despicable. hollywood is special needs shortbus challenged.

Wow, you can't possibly seriously believe this movie has intense religious themes. You are either trying to get a reaction or you are blinded by your hatred.

I`m an atheist and I found the religious part funny. My god, it showed how ridiculous the things we believe in are. Seriously, this is the thing people believe in...roflmao

Dude, it's fiction. You know, like the bible.

Hardly fanatically Christian. If it were none of those people would have gone to Heaven since it didn't show one scene where they accepted Jesus as their lord and savior. In Christianity being a nice person doesn't get you a spot in heaven, which this movie depicted, so how was it fanatically Christian?

Stupidity is the hallmark of humanity, the torch that is passed down throughout the ages.

the movie DID have a faith-based moral to it.. I think it was incredibly brave of them to do this in th moral cesspool of hollywood.. they watered down their message because they were testing th waters.i imagine, as they become more successful they'll put stronger messages in their work. :)

ALMOST EVERYONE IN THIS MOVIE WAS A JEW. NOT A ONE OF THEM BELIEVES IN THIS STUFF.

I'm sorry for shouting but I'm sick of repeating it. None of the writers, neither of the directors and none of the main actors believe in the religious themes of this movie, they were making fun of them.

Intense religious themes? Seriously? You do realize it's a comedy, right? I wonder what you make of a movie like The Matrix, which can be interpreted as a cyber-punk version of the Passion Of The Christ, including resurrection and all. or maybe the Wachowski brothers are christians disguised as jewish. Seriously, man, you should enjoy a comedy for what it is and not try to find hidden propaganda in it.
