can't seem to get over the horror of the fact that he was going to use the banana to ...you know. Luckily she was a bit more sophisticated and outspoken than average.
that is awful. I mean it would hurt and might even damage her as it would have to be skin on as the peeled banana would just squish...what the hell was that about? And he used other poor young girls before her...did they have to endure his weird baby talk (i'm your Bubble Up, good grief!)and banana rape? if only young women were educated to the predatory way some people will behave to get what they want from them, it would spare them a lot of hurt and trauma.

Yes, that was very disturbing. And the sweet, cloying tone he said it in, eugh.
I think it was a very successful way of disturbing the viewer, of showing how experienced he was, how he didn't take their relationship seriously, and how he was an absolute playboy.

Obviously Doctor, you've never been a thirteen year old girl.

Ew EW!! The movie was on tv in Sydney last night. I'd not seen it before. I watched it for a while but was too tired to stay the distance so I missed the 'banana scene'. But EEEWWWW~ [I am not a big fan of the lead actor's appearance in any case. He always acts very well but there is **something** about the flat and horizontal set of his upper teeth that I find really distracting, as if he has one too many incisors. The measured escalation in creepiness of his character even in the part of the movie I watched was already giving me a hard time. But EWWW to the banana thing.]

If I were a young girl, that would freak me out as well. Fortunately, she liked him enough that his stupid mistake didn't torpedo the evening between them.

I can't believe some people didn't pick up on the banana scene meaning he was going to use it to break her hymen. Showing he had DONE THIS BEFORE with other Virgins and was selfish and childish in that he didn't want to get any blood on him. Jenny never really loved him and she had much more sexual chemistry with his friend Danny but she loved the lifestyle and liked being charmed. David was a total creeper though. That banana would have HURT.
