Parody on both liberals and conservatives...
If you saw this and thought that all the idiocy resembled the “other side” then you’re that idiot liberal and foolish conservative the film is making fun of.

shareI agree. Mark Rylance who played Peter Isherwell, the CEO of BASH, was a parody of Biden. Did you all not notice the sniffing of the hair. His mannerisms shouted Biden. While being comedic, and the constant profanity, this movie was a parody of us all to depict how shallow we have become.

We are all dipshit idiot's?
I dont see that.
You have the left trying to lower standards in schools and entry exams for colleges and businesses.
Lowering the bar , put lower skilled people in these positions.
How does the right get blamed for lowering the standards?
Open borders is a clear left policy.
Open borders brings in 3rd world people with extremely low education levels. This adds to dumbing down of a country. How are the right to blame for the lefts open borders?
Defund the police, no cash bail. Democrat policy. This directly keeps criminals out of jail and on the streets. Which adds to the decline of society. But it's the right who are soft on crime?
These are all valid criticisms, but you are missing the point. You could write the same list about the conservatives too and it would be valid too. The while western world seems to have a severe lack of actual leaders for the last few decades. What happened to JFKs, Churchills etc. of our times?
shareSpoilers ahead:
He wasn’t only Joe Biden. He’s an amalgamation of Biden, Tim Cook, Elon Musk, and Bill Gates. He presents a phone that can damn near read your mind (Apple, Tim Cook). Then he creates a machine that he thinks can save the planet (Elon Musk, remember the trapped miners?). And he also wants to harvest the “nutrients” in the asteroid to “wipe out hunger, strife, and human suffering” (Sounds exactly like Bill Gates).
The slowness and slurring speech is Joe Biden. The sniffing the hair part gave that away easily.
You are correct. I also was thinking of Steve Jobs when writing the reply, but failed to add him. (Brain freeze!)
shareWell you have the hair sniffing and then you have all the things that indicate he's a parody of tim cook, steve jobs, or maybe mark zuckerberg
shareYup. Both sides are full of looneys...
shareagreed, it's parody is across the total political spectrum
shareYes, it made fun of both liberals and conservatives!
Having a sense of humor means being able to laugh at yourself once in a while😂
I sure did and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie!
Note, it's not making fun of both sides Ahmad, it's a typical Hollywood liberals good, conservatives stupid trope.
shareWell, read the OP… 🤷🏾♂️
It maybe you think it’s making fun of your side so you don’t like it. I can point out many times liberals were the butt of the joke. How could you have missed them?
In watching some news talking heads discuss how the movie "skewered politicians" and I'm yelling at my TV, "IT SKEWERED YOU, TOO!"
shareEhh… the film may have poked a few (well-deserved) jabs at liberals, but it was certainly much harsher on conservatives.
As long as the satire is funny, though, I have no problem parodying either (or any) political ideology. There are idiots on the left, and idiots on the right.
One of the many reasons I enjoyed the film.
Thank you providing a clear example of the reactionary, false-equivalency, conservative whose only response to....well....everything....is to try to deflect/distract by projecting their own shortcomings onto the "other side" to claim they are "just as bad" in an effort to convince themself that they have no shortcomings. Sad
shareYou are who we thought you were.
shareThe only thing you've proven about your original post is that YOU are very "liberal" when it comes to giving yourself the benefit of the doubt that the opinion you've formed about this movie is an example of actual 'thinking'.
shareYou’re either liberal and pissed that someone made fun of you or conservative and pissed because someone is pointing out that you’re not the victim you think you are. I’m going with you being liberal since you seem offended for absolutely no f’ing reason.
shareYou on the other hand are NO DOUBT someone who didn't understand the real-world relevance of the message of the movie, but rather than at least trying to understand it, you've tried to deflect from that fact by hiding behind the "both sides false-equivalency" 'argument' so you don't have to admit that to yourself.
shareSee, the problem is - the other side actually is just as bad. This is why we are in such a shithole.
shareAgain, false-equivalencies provide no progress towards a solution.
shareThere can be no progress towards a solution until one admits that a problem exists.
shareAgreed, the problem in this case being that such false-equivalencies do not help solve the problem.
shareThe problem being that both sides are making shit decisions because two party systems dont work and there needs to be a viable third party which the voters can use to "punish" the two parties if they get entrenched into "with me or against me" mentality like it is now.
But you are too partisan to see this. You are the problem.
Says the person who apparently refuses to believe the possibility that their false-equivalency viewpoint isn't the ONLY viewpoint that is valid.
