Box office predictions: Is it gonna' flop?

It has a $90 million budget.

I think it's gonna' lose money, I can't see this making >$100 million.

It hasn't been testing well. People are expecting Gladiator, but that's not Eggers at all.

reply

Yes. The Last Duel flopped and that had big names in the marquee.

I'm a big fan of the director but he should have stuck with low/mid budget indies.

reply

This genre is never gonna be a blockbuster. Even Braveheart only made good money.

reply

Nah, both Gladiator and Troy made well over $400M, blockbuster status. Almost forgot 300!

reply

Damn. I didn't know they did so good. wow. Maybe there could be a series of films if they did it right.

reply

Yeah once upon a time, audiences actually flocked to historical epics. The Last Samurai was a huge hit too when it came out. I hope that Eggers revives it to that blockbuster status once again.

It's going to hit a summertime crowd primed for fantasy adventure by the popular Elden Ring game, and worn out from endless Superhero franchises.

It's going to do such great box office business that it will spark a wave of Sword & Sorcery movies greater than that of the early 80s or the 2000s.
