Do teens today really act like this?

Much of the film was disturbing, but something that bugged me big time was the way the girls allowed themselves to be compromised. When I was a teen, I knew girls who blew guys for coke- those girls were hard-core ADDICTS, not just girls out for fun!

Also, do girls today really think that being on your knees sucking off a guy is empowering? And do girls really have to PAY MONEY to get in a party??

When I was a teen girl, the guys worked, paid, and danced for MY attention, not the other way around...I felt more powerful under those conditions than I would on my knees!

Some kids are like Megan, other kids are like Amy. You have good kids, trashy kids, and others who, like Megan, are basically good but are messed up because they've got no self-esteem and a crappy home life.

I watched this movie right after I watched Decline Of Western Civilization Part III - a documentary on homeless punk rock kids - which may be why this film rang true to me. The real kids in Decline weren't a whole lot different from Megan -- they seemed good-hearted but they were already alcoholics at 15 and scamming for money for booze, partying in vomit-filled squats that they'd trashed. So, yeah, there are teens like these out there. Certainly not all, probably not even most, but it's not unrealistic.

I know what you mean, OP.

It's absolutely appalling. 13 year old talking about giving BJs and taking drugs already? What the heck. I was in high school about 10 years ago and despite there being some loser groups with those things as their life goal... it wasn't as gratuitous as this movie.
