Similar films (protagonist who slowly loses it)?

Does anyone have any other films they can think of that are in the same vein, taking the same formula (a protagonist starts of doing somewhat well, then degrades over the course of the film, and has a breakdown of sorts at the end)?

I have 2011's "Shame," but that's the only one I can really think of. Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Taxi Driver.

Well, I don't know if he's doing "somewhat well" in the beginning, but definitely better than he is later in the movie.

Pandora's Box (1929)
Blackmail (1929)
The Wind (1928)
Odd Man Out (1947)
The Rocking Horse Winner (1949)
Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972)
The Killing of Sister George (1969)
The Red Shoes (1947)
Repulsion (1965)

The last two are obvious influences on Black Swan.

Thank you, professor. I have heard of Repulsion (I believe it came up because of Black Swan, as a matter of fact).

Might you know of any from the 80's-present? Thanks again.

There's a popular theory that Drag Me to Hell is a metaphor for an eating disorder.

Article also mentions The Shining. That qualifies.

Cheers.

And thanks for the Drag Me to Hell thing.
