I think on the black market though, if they're selling someone as a 'pure virgin', most likely they do still have the hymen intact (since that's like a certificate of authenticity), which means they're harder to find since many virgins either don't have or lose their hymen, and hence more sought after and more expensive. even if you were rich, would you spend 100's of thousands of dollars on a maybe-virgin? of course not. you'd want proof that it was the real deal. so if there are virgins with no hymens, they probably can't sell them as virgins, but can still sell them as top quality.

the scene was put into the movie more to relieve the audience in the fact that she wasn't sold to anyone for sex yet. obviously her friend wasn't a virgin since they sold her off to the lower class whore houses, the only place they could make money off of loosey goosey.
