How did this crap-ola movie get a 7.1 rating?

(SPOILERS)
OK, I will qualify that. Completely unrealistic behaviour by all the main characters -
1. professional army personnel and other interrogators bickering in front of the prisoner,
2.a specialist torturer who can hit an army guy with a metal bar and not be reprimanded - who answers to no one.
3.The top military guy on the scene refuses to be present in the gymnasium for most of the movie.
4. A terrorist who wants to be caught and tortured.
5. The torturer's wife who admires his work because she lived through atrocities in Albania.
6.The torturers side kick who is cold as ice, except for children who he lovingly protects.
7. a terrorist who is about to decimate the USA claiming to be a loyal American

A pile of rubbish. Get real people.

I liked the film, if it so bad why do you come here to waste even more of your time to complain about it? Does not make any sense.

sammy j, that's why
and i loved the movie

who knows what would really happen, or should i say what will happen, when this situation really comes up. its only a matter of time before it becomes more and more common. humanity is a cancer.

also by using the word rubbish your obviously british which means youve already judged the movie based on your hatred for the usa.. who has taken on the brunt of the burden from what your country started in the middle east following world war i and the ousting of the turks.. assuming you want to keep it within the realm of modern terrorism and not go even further back to the crusdaes... again not the usa's fault lol. so stop blaming higher powers for your personal problems. go see a therapist.

Who needs to analyze it. I work all day and love to come home and see something that keeps me awake, this did.
Loved it and the questions it poses are real.
Great stuff.

Why you have instantly jumped to the conclusion that whoever you're replying to is judging the film in the way they have done, based on the fact they may be British and therefore (for some reason I'm unaware of) have an arbitrary hatred for the USA? You choose to attack this person based on something their country did in the past, during a period where the person in question wasn't even alive to witness it. If this is the protocol by which you judge others then I'm sure you wouldn't mind if we retort in the same manner? Your country began slavery when it began importing people from Africa. Is that your fault? No, of course not. Now when it comes to a debate, however, is it ok for us to use it as cannon fodder against you? No, of course it isn't. Then why is it ok for you to do so?

I disagree with most of the user's (possibly a troll anyway) points myself anyway. I actually thought the film was very good (like you), and I think it threw up some interesting questions about morality. But I cannot help but see your own reply to this user's comment as crass, and rife with callow assumptions based on nothing more than the person's nationality, and a piece of British history that they weren't even around to be a part of. That's very presumptuous I'd say. I, myself, certainly don't have a hatred for the USA, I just have a hatred for prejudice.

i watched the movie twice but several scenes were cut.

1- 2- it's a very unusual situation with nuclear threat so you should expect unusual behavior.

3- he doesn't want to watch torture or to take liability, the soldier removed his name.

4- this didn't make sense to me, but since he's a "100 % american" it was some kind of self punishment for killing his own people.

5- it's possible that such experience would turn some one to a sadistic person.

6- it's possible but the casting and the acting wasn't convincing, not just for him but other soldiers as well.

7- he thinks the government betrayed the american values of justice and freedom, and he gave the president a chance to repent.

what didn't make sense to me is the officials waiting to the last hours to hide in nuclear shelters as if they believe the timing that the terrorist gave them.

Gotta agree. I'd give this movie a 0 if I could.
